Chapter 29 - To Stay

Sophie's POV

Papunta na ako sa hotel kung saan kami nagi-stay dito sa Paris . We went here para sa doctor's appointment ni Joe . Pursigido si tita na makahanap ng cure para sa kanya kaya kami nagpunta dito as soon as nirecommed sa kanya na pumunta dito .

Pabalik na sana ako nang bigla akong makatanggap ng text galing kay mama .

"Anak yung pinapabili ko ha . May mabibilhan ka naman yatang convenience store dyan . Mag iingat ka ha , ayaw kong maghanap ng nawawalang pangit "

Oo nga pala yung pinapabili ni mama bakit hindi ko yan naalala kanina ?! Kung kailangan ako pabalik dun naman nagpaalala si mama hayyysss uulan pa naman yata . Juicecolored na buhay 'to , hindi ko pa naman alam dito baka mawala lang ako .

" Pangit ! "Sabi sa akin nung lalakeng biglang umakbay sa akin .

" 'Diba sabi sayo magpahinga ka lang ! Bakit ka lumabas ? Umaambon pa naman " pagsermon ko sa kanya

" ok lang yan , besides wala naman din akong ibang ginagawa dun eh " sagot nya .

" Pero-"

" Sssshhhh , lets go .... " sabi nya sabay hila sa akin .

We were just strolling through a busy street with the colors of city lights and the vibe of the night . He held my hand as we walk around the busy city of Paris .

" Pangit bakit pala nagdecide kang sumama sa amin dito ? Akala ko ba mas gusto mong mag stay sa Pilipinas ? " tanong nya sa akin .

" Well .... I realized na dapat I would may time ako lagi para sayo . Gusto ko every moment of my life is sppent beside you kasi wala akong gurantee if maybe in the next second wala ka na sa tabi ko . "

" You're starting to be cheesy " sabi nya habang nakangisi .

" Grabe , from the heart yun dude , tapos 'you're starting to be cheesy' lang sagot mo . Di mo man lang naapreciate yun ! "

" Hoy naapreciate ko yun ! " he said sabay hawak sa kamay ko tapos inilapat nya sa dibdib nya .

" You can feel that my heart beats in an unusual rythm and it stays that way whenever you're with me . Your words seems like light , it consumes all the darkness in me until everything seems bright and my heart beats for the kind of love that you give " sabi nya habang nakatiting ng malalim sa akin . The sincerity in his eyes ppulls me close to his world that's filled with nothing but love .

" Joe you have no idea how I feel tuwing kasama kita . Whenever you hold me in your arms , it feels like I'm also holding the world , my world , and letting go is never that easy because it feels like someone took one of the pieces that keeps me whole "

" But how could you gurantee that if I stay , things will be better . To stay is an obligation but to leave was nothing but a choice Sophie , and sometimes choices make things work , either good or bad "

" Pero hindi ba pwedeng manatili ka , how can you say that choices make things work if those choices makes everything dysfunctional " I told him teary-eyed .

" You know for sure that the earth doesn't revolve on all things good because life doesn't rely on laughter and smile , if things were like that then what's the reason why sadness and tears were created " sabi nya then he pulled me into a hug as my tears continue to fall . Alam kong hindi na rin sya magtatagal pero tanging hiling ko is that he stays just a little bit longer . Hearing that he'll leave soon was like hearing every goodbyes said to me all at once . Its hard to accept the fact that maybe it's true that I can't live without him dahil nasanay ako na nandyan sya lagi sa tabi ko .

" Pangit ........... "

" I ..... Love ....... "

" You " sabay naming sabi then he held me tighter as the rain touched the streets of Paris . The crowd started to find a place where they wont be wet but we decided to stay where we are and stare at each other's eyes . These moments will forever haunt my memories when he's gone and the rain is my living proof of it . It has always been there through the sweet and bitter times of my life .

" Joe , promise me that even though you won't stay , you'll still be here just a little bit longer "

Walang imik si Joe and it bothered me .

" Joe ......"

" I can't promise that Sophie .... pero kahit na wala na ako , my love will never leave you , that I promise "
