300 Lives

They had so much hope,
Hoping that someone would save their lives,
They laughed, they smiled, they joked,
Not knowing their smiles won't last long.

"This is like the Titanic", that's what they said,
"This is gonna be in the news",
They said not knowing what's ahead,
I'm writing this poem to all those irresponsible adults that left them dead,
I know that you still sleep well knowing that you destroyed 300 dreams, for your own selfishness.

Imagine looking at your classroom filled with happy memories,
And how horrible you must feel to come and greet your friend's parents when their child didn't make it alive but you did.
Imagine saying, "I'm sorry I was the one who survived and not them",
Instead of saying, "I'm here to meet my friend."

This is dedicated to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. 6 days to the 7th year anniversary. We won't forget. #yellowribbons
