❝ Now, have you seen a boy about as tall as my shoulders and with brown eyes? ❞

     Luna didn't believe in fate.

The first time these words left her mouth, two friends she called family asked her why. Her answer was simple. "I don't know," she had told them. The words felt incomplete, bland, and not satisfying. Not just to her friends but to herself as well. She had contemplated another response for a long time, but even her mind couldn't figure out its reasons.

That was until she reached an age where this lack of faith became a deep hatred. She couldn't stand the mere thought of having a destiny being chosen for her before she was born because why the hell did fate decide to give her such a crappy life? Why would fate be the cause behind her mother's abandonment, behind the loss of her first love, behind all the pain she endured when she didn't do anything to enrage it? On the opposite, fate angered her.

Beacon Hills seemed to be on the side of fate, though. Almost two weeks spent in this town, three days spent entirely at school, and Luna had already enough of this Scott McCall and his friend Stiles Stilinski. She was slowly beginning to move on despite her nightmares, but then Scott had to get bitten and become a supernatural creature, more precisely, a werewolf. Dealing with a newly turned Beta was not what she wanted to do, and yet fate chose for her like it always did.

It started when she saw Scott in the pool behind her neighbour's house. Luna had just woken up and made breakfast for her siblings as her parents weren't home when something moved in her backyard. Using her glowing green eyes to see better, she growled at the half-naked Scott running through the woods. He seemed lost and dazed, probably what caused him to fall into the neighbour's pool. If it hadn't been for Ruby screaming about the spider in his room, she would have laughed at Scott.

Fate struck again during Luna's first lacrosse practice. Hearing Stiles speaking of a half-body with wolf hairs all over it had already stressed her out before Coach could even blow his whistle, and then Scott decided practice allowed him to act up. While she was talking with her teammate Danny, Scott took the initiative to jump over defence like he was a gymnast. Luna wished she could have hit him multiple times with her lacrosse stick.

A third incident occurred the night preceding Lydia's party. Luna was walking home late as she had to close the small dinner she worked at. Usually, she would have taken the bus, but due to the heavy rain, hers had been cancelled. Fate really did screw her up with this one when a dark figure began following her. It wasn't hard for Luna to sense this creature wasn't a human, nor was it hard for her inhuman strength to throw it into a random window. Knowing she wasn't stronger than the creature, Luna used its dazed phase to run fast.
