I've been in Seattle for about a month and a half. I've made some great friends but I'm still missing my old ones. I can't wait to see Bela again. Shreya too, I guess. I've stared at that picture every single day since I came here. I haven't even taken the bracelet off either. I tried calling them, but Shreya's super busy and so is Bela. The only time that Bela has off to call me is when I'm at practice. Even on the weekends, she has plans with her new friends.
"Hey, Barzy," My roommate Ethan came into the room. I shoved the picture under my bed to keep him from seeing it. He looked at me weirdly, then sat on his bed.
"What the hell are you hiding under that pillow?" Ethan asked.
"Nothing," I said.
"Could it get you kicked off the team? Is it illegal?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"No," I said. "It's nothing dude, I swear,"
"I know you're lying, but I'm way too tired to shake it out of you," Ethan said, closing his eyes.
"The gym was that brutal, eh?" I laughed.
"It's not too bad," Ethan said, but I could tell he was lying.
I woke up early the next morning to go for the daily workout with the team.
"E, wake up dude," I said to Ethan. He threw the pillow on top of his face and turned over. "Wake me up never,"
"Ethan," I grabbed the pillow and hit him with it. "Coach is gonna be pissed if we don't make it there on time,"
"Fine," Ethan groaned.
We finished our workout at 8 o'clock and Ethan and I went to go get breakfast afterwards. We went all the way to Dunkin, Ethan's favorite place. I liked going there in the mornings and the coffee there is pretty good.
We walked into Dunkin and the girl behind the counter greeted us with a smile. She looked at me.
"What can I do for ya?" She asked.
"I'll have a medium coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant," I said.
"I'll have the same," Ethan said. "And hash browns, and a glazed donut, and wait- make that two orders of hash browns, and a bagel,"
"Damn," I said.
He looked at me.
"I'm fucking starving," He said to me.
"Anything else?" The girl asked, pushing her dark brown hair behind her shoulders.
"That should be it," I said, pulling out my wallet. "Unless Ethan wants more food,"
"Nope, that's it for me," Ethan said.
The girl behind the counter smiled. She looked at me again. She went to get our food as we waited by the counter.
"Dude," Ethan nudged me. "That girl is totally into you,"
"What girl?" I asked.
"Our server lady," Ethan told me. "I'm telling you, dude, she's into you,"
"Nah," I laughed. "Maybe she's into you,"
"Me?" Ethan asked. "Well, who wouldn't,"
I laughed again.
"But I saw the way that she looked at you," Ethan said.
She came back with our bags of food.
"Have a nice day," She smiled at me again.
