// Nova //
"Then what happened?!"
I smirked as my gaze met my overly excited best friend's dark brown eyes. She was leaning over the chair so much that it was beginning to tip over. Her eyes were widened in anticipation for me to continue on with my story that happened with Niall earlier this week. We haven't talked since that stupid night at the club - another reason why I no longer going to clubs and will ever drink again. She was worried about me to pieces and dying to know if I was still myself. When she finally got my call to meet up at our favorite bookstore, she immediately drove there. Once I walked into the bookstore and the door chimed, I got attacked by her famous Tess hugs. Also known as the most tight and aggressive hug on this entire planet, but the most loving ones too. We sat down on the floor in our favorite book section - The Romance Novels. We sat cross legged in front of each other, inhaling the sweet crisp pages of new books surrounding us. She handed me a peppermint mocha drink to me, still warm enough to heat up my cold, pale hands. I sipped in between our coversations, still catching up with each other's lives. Once I moved onto the Niall situation, her eyes were about to pop out of their socket.
"So, you stayed over at Niall's place and he took care of you for most of the night? Not to mention you slept in his bed! I'm pretty sure Miranda's never even been to his flat yet!" Tess spilled out in a matter of seconds.
I shrugged it off, fighting back a smile that's been tugging on my lips. Remembering that day I spent with Niall always makes me grin and just want to spend even more time with him. The only thing that always managed to smack the smile off my face was when his eyes would light up whenever I mentioned Miranda or should I say "Nova". It hurt a lot, but I wouldn't want to confuse him or make him hate me for lying along with her.
"Tess, would you please shut up for a second so I can finish the story?" I pleaded, a playful tone that went along with my words.
She rolled her eyes and nodded, letting me continue.
"We went to the park and played a game of football - me winning of course. Then he took me out to this cute, quiet diner nearby. We had an eating contest and felt like dying. Afterwards, we sat on a bench and chatted for hours, sadly it was about Miranda. Then he took me home and gave me his number, so we can keep in touch. The End."
I finished and began chugging down the hot liquid down my throat. Tess's eyes were beaming with happiness and excitement, I was afraid she was going to explode like a firecracker. She grabbed a hold of my arm, almost spilling out my mocha. She squealed, causing dozens of pairs of eyes to stare at us. I apologized quietly, trying to calm down my best friend.
"This is a sign, Nova. You need to make a move and he'll realize that you're the one he should be falling madly in love with at the moment! Go text that boy this minute and tell him everything." She commanded me, standing up in a rush.
I eyed my purse on the floor and looked up at Tess. She stared at it and then right back to my gaze. I opened my mouth and glared at her.
"You wouldn't."
"Try me."
It happened way too fast. I jumped right to my purse, instantly colliding with Tess's arms. Her arms were tangled with my head and neck, as I blindly slapped her silly with my arm in an awkward position. Our legs were spazzing everywhere, trying to move somewhat closer to the purse lying on the ground. I pushed her head down with my free hand and instantly crawled as fast as I could. I almost grabbed my purse when my foot was dragged backwards, me screaming in the process. I heard Tess laugh and crawl over my body. She picked up the purse and began snooping around for my phone. I gasped as she finally grabbed my phone. I panicked and tackled her back to the ground. She groaned and I smacked the phone out of her neat manicured fingers.
