Dear Niall

Have you ever felt your heart get ripped out of your chest and stomped on? Then afterwards, someone runs it over millions of times? I have.

It truly sucks. Seeing you fall in love with the wrong girl, when the right girl was right in front of you makes me want to sink into a black hole. I wish you knew that you were falling in love with the wrong person, but I can't do that. So many things can happen wrong and I don't want to be blamed for it all. So, I'm just going to go along with it no matter how much it kills me.

"Nova, I need you to do something for me."

I looked up and covered my neatly written letter with my arms. Mr. Porter was in front of the counter and had a hand on Miranda's bony shoulder. I raised my eyebrow and nodded for him to continue, when I really don't care at this point.

"I need you to accompany Miranda on her date with Niall tonight."

I swear it felt like my eyes almost popped out of its socket. Miranda scoffed and glared at me, with her arms folded in front of her. Mr. Porter nodded and waited for me to accept my task.

"Why in the world would I do that? She already ruined everything for me. Plus, wouldn't Niall feel awkward and uncomfortable to know that Miranda needs a babysitter for her dates?" I asked, clenching my fists.

My sweaty boss shook his head and placed two fingers on his temple. Miranda rolled her eyes and looked at me like I was an idiot.

"No, you freak. You're going to help tell me what to tell Niall during our date. I didn't write your letters and I know he's going to ask me about it. So, I need you to tell me." She stated, as she pushed a long strand of her hair away from her face.

I glared at her again and then faced Mr. Porter.

"And how am I supposed to do that? Because obviously when you whisper something in someone's ear in the middle of a conversation to continue that conversation is totally normal." I sarcastically said.

Miranda slapped her perfect manicured hand on my letter and snatched it from under my hands. I gasped and tried to reach for it back. Her eyes scanned the white paper and smirked. I gulped and kept trying to act like I wasn't intimidated by her.

"Aw poor baby. Guess what? Niall's already with the right girl, which is me. If you ruin anything between us I swear I am going to make you feel much worse than that." She threatened me as she stared me down.

"Starting with that precious dirty, dance studio you always go to. Now it's your decision. Daddy could always use another Nando's in that spot." She smirked.

In that exact moment I heard a snap and looked down at my hands to see that I snapped my pencil in half. Miranda gave me a weird look and then noticed the broken pencil in between us. She smiled and bent down to meet me eye level.

"Exactly what I thought. Be at this restaurant tonight at 7:30 PM. Don't be late. Wear something casual and don't get noticed. I'll explain what we're doing when we meet up at the restaurant."

She handed me a white crumpled strip of paper which contained the address of the restaurant. I examined it and then put on my best fake smile ever. They both walked off to wherever and I was left at the counter, staring into space.

I was joining Niall and Miranda on their first date. How awkward. I guess I can say in a weird, interesting way I am going on a date with Niall as well.

I looked down at my outfit and wondered if it was alright to wear. I was wearing a black leather jacket on top of a white v-neck. I slipped on some dark jeggings with some of my favorite combat boots. My hair was in their messy usual curls and was lazily blowing in the wind. I looked around the slightly crowded sidewalk and didn't find Miranda or Niall anywhere. I sighed and took out my phone. It was 7:50 PM and I've been waiting outside, looking like a loner for the past 20 minutes.
