•••"Is Oh Sehun here?"
"Sorry," his classmate shook his head while running his eyes away, "He's absent since yesterday." His cheeks became red due some sort of unknown reasons when I found myself staring too hard at him.
I heaved a sigh in frustration. As expected, he didn't come. Yesterday he didn't come because he was resting in the nurse's office, so today he must've gotten his rest at home. "Alright. Thank you." I added to the first year who was confused of why would a senior looking for his classmate. Staring past his shoulder, there was really an empty spot in one of the seats at the back row.
Really, I could feel I was looking at it with a sour mood. Yixing wasn't at school today, neither.
I was on my way from the library after borrowing some books, and since the first year classrooms were along the way, I thought I could stop by to take a look at Oh Sehun's condition if he came. Even after keeping him a company after school, he still kept his mouth shut from telling anything. From the way he shut himself down made me cancel my intention to tell him that I brought Yixing in a few minutes earlier. This motherly instinct of mine just kept tingling, you know.
Scratching my head, I decided to hold off my journey in finding him. Maybe I could Naeun for his number or his home addressㅡat this point, I might have to use some force to make him talk more. I was ready to turn my heels around in devastation when the first year in front of me was pushed to the side.
Kim Jongin now was in my focus. He furrowed his brows together, his face was obvious asking what was I doing here. "Do you want anything with a first year's classroom?" I forgot that these two were classmates.
"..not really." I couldn't help but to sound weaker than I intended to. Finding myself standing right in front of him made me feel more guilty than before. I meant like, he was the first to tell me about the unfounded rumours of bullying cases. The other student council members didn't really pay attention to it too muchㅡbecause to the lack of proofs, like what Jongin had said.
He tilted his head to the side, eyeing on me. "It's okay, Chorong. You can tell me anything."
My eyes went back to look at him. A small smile found its way on his handsome face, before he stepped outside his classroom. "Here, I'll help you take the books to your classroom. You can tell me while we're walking, then." Though the books that I was holding onto weren't that thick and heavy, he still took all of it with his hands with a convincing face.
I pressed my lips into a thin line, feeling scary at his intuition. "N-no, I really don't need anything." My feet followed him from behind within a moment.
