•••There were times nowadays when I wished our worlds would begin and end with understanding each other.
The snow that fell on my nose tickled my skin. It felt cold for an instant moment, before the feeling disappeared from my senses. There were trees, and unfamiliar sceneries that surrounded the area that I had never been to before. I rubbed my hands together, feeling the coldness since I took off the gloves right after we arrived.
Naeun came, placing a hand on my shoulder to break my thoughts, "What are you looking at?"
"The snow." I replied with a little smile.
"You're so dramatic, I love it." She dreamily sighed, wrapping hands around me to pull into a tight hug. She didn't question anythingㅡbut it made me realise how silly I looked like staring at the snow like I was in a deep serious mood or something.
I patted on her back, "Naeun." When she immediately turned to me, I sighed. "Have you..Have you always knew that Junmyeon lost his mother?"
I was grateful to have her as a companion to tag along with the trip. Rather than going aloneㅡit felt a lot better having someone else beside me, and Naeun was my one and only choice to choose. She didn't say anything, perhaps it was because she too sort of knew, what was going on with Junmyeon and his stories of a past that I didn't know.
Naeun's smile faltered a little bit, as she gave me a light nod to indicate a yes. Scratching her cheek, she seemed nervous over the topic. "But I don't know the details. Not just me, but people who aren't close with him, we all know that she has died. That's just it."
I hummed quietly. And I just knew about it last week too. No one said anything about that to me. I had never expected that either.
"You finally knew about it, huh? Who did you hear it from?"
"He told me himself." I pressed my lips straightly, feeling underwhelmed.
Naeun returned to smile. "That's good to hear. Some of us think it's a taboo thing to ask. You know that he's a bit grumpy and uncontrollably moody."
"If I ask him more about his mother, will that make him mad?"
"I'm not sure about that. That just means you're trying to dig your own grave. Curiosity kills the cat, isn't it?" She raised a brow, making a mixed hints of worried but lighthearted at the same time. She was about to continue, before taking a few seconds off. It was obvious she was having a mental disagreement within herself to say her comment. "Why not try to ask Baekhyun first? I'm sure he wouldn't mind that."
