Harry, now alone, entered the forbidden forest for what he hoped was the last time today. The only light came from the moon which cast shadows against the jagged rocks and gnarly trees surrounding him.
His eyes flitted down to his shadow only to be painfully reminded of the curse of his rockin bod.
He had to believe in his heart of hearts, his soul of souls, his mind of minds, that someone would love him for who he really was, not for something as shallow as his six pack.
And maybe, just a little, he was hoping that person would be Taylor. He quickly cast aside the thought, because he knew that the moment he started to have hope, he would only be disappointed--a lesson that had been drilled into his subconscious too many times to count.
He made it to the centaur clearing, way passed his bedtime. "Firenzia!" he called out into the silence.
All he heard was crickets crick and a stream trickling down from the top of a hill. The centaur-ess was nowhere in sight.
"FIRENZIA!" He screamed, straining his precious vocal chords, which was bad because he knew how much his band needed and valued his singing.
Suddenly, the lady centaur emerged from the shadows, hoofs perched on the edge of the hill as birds scattered songs in her wake. Her long blonde hair cascading down her back, flowed wildly in the wind and a look of confusion crossed her face when she saw Harry standing down below.
"Louis?" She whispered, her heart beginning to race. She thought she'd ruined any chance she had with him and yet, there he was. The boy of her dreams. Whether he was fifteen years younger than her was irrelevant.
Age was just a number after all.
Harry sighed exasperatedly, not looking forward to this. But he had to, for Taylor. "Hey," he winked.
She galloped down to him, "you put on clothes." she remarked.
Harry nearly choked on his words. "Yeah, they're made of boyfriend material."
Firenzia blushed fiercely, and strutted up to him to be too close for comfort, brushing some hair out of his eyes, "oh! I see." she quickly brushed some of her own hair behind her human ear.
"Yeah...well, are you from Tennessee, cause you're the only 10 I see...." he hoped that that pick up line was good because he wanted to use it on Taylor who was from the Colonies.
"Oh, Harry! Do you wanna go out with me?" She fluttered her eyelashes at him and pursed her lips as if for a kiss.
Harry did not expect his pick up lines to take him this far, and frankly, did not want to go out with the adult looking centaur.
"Oh! Actually, I'm busy," he checked his wrist as if to check his watch, but realized he did not have one on, "I have school and then band practice in the hospital wing...so I can't anytime soon, sorry, bye!!" Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and bolted back to Hogwarts.
The next day, Harry had to suffer through class after class. The worst class by far was potions with Professor Snape. He kept staring into Harry's eyes and complimenting their greenness.
He couldn't wait for his first band practice this afternoon, and when it finally came, he sauntered down cheerily to the hospital wing and met up with his other band mates, giving a hug to each of them (not social distancing), and an especially big hug to Zayn--his best friend forever--who was sulking in a corner.
"Zayn! Glad you're here!" Harry shouted, waking up the sleeping patients.
Zayn rolled his eyes, landing them on Taylor who stood by the door of the hospital wing.
