Book One: Air

As I came too, I fluttered my eyes open. All I could see was black. There seemed to be a cloth constricting my vision and I licked my lips. Thinking. Then I realized that my entire face was covered. Like I was forced into a balaclava without any eye holes. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I felt someone struggling behind me. Our hands were tied against each others but in a way that we couldn't untie each other. I leaned back.

"Ron?"

"Harry?" Ron whispered back and the feeling of slight relief sprang in my chest. "Can you see?" I asked him and he grunted. "No. Can you?" He asked and I shook my head, repeating his answer. Suddenly, I tensed and my eyes widened underneath the cloth. I could hear voices. A few of them. All of which seemed to be female. Suddenly, the balaclava was ripped off of my head and I grunted, my eyes trying and failing to adjust to the brightness of wherever we were. I tried to look around without my glasses. It seemed we were in some type of orange room with a sloping roof. Balls of light wafted in mid air around the room and there was a long, dark wooden table before me with what looked like a map on top. But my view of the table was immediately constricted when somebody walked in front of me and my glasses were harshly shoved on my face.

My eyes adjusted to the familiar lenses and my eyes widened. We weren't in an orange room. We were in a tent. And before me stood a girl. She was head to toe in a battle dress. Golden and silver embroidery had been carefully added to the belt and shoulder pads she wore and her Holter top looked like a mixture of and platinum copper. Underneath the armor of gold and silver, she wore a blue, mid thigh length dress dotted with small crystals and tribal symbols. Tucked underneath her golden bangs lay a small golden headpiece. Her long, platinum hair was braided in blue cloth that matched her dress down her back and her large, pale blue eyes gleamed as she stared down at Ron and I. She was gorgeous and looked like she had just come out of Fortnight...

"Good evening," she said in a high pitched ethereal sounding voice and my eyes widened. She looked and sounded no younger than I was. "You must be famished. Shall I give you a meal whilst we wait for Her Lady?" She asked and I could hear Ron mirroring my confusion. Suddenly, a girl in the corner whome I had not realized was even there spoke. She too wore a battle dress except instead of blue, she wore red. "We do not talk to the prisoners, Luna. Her Lady doesn't need any of us getting attached," she said dryly, staring at the long wooden table as if she wished she could be somewhere else. To be honest, I shared her sentiment. The blonde girl named Luna pouted. "But look at his eyes, Lav. Aren't they just beautiful?" She asked airily and the girl dressed in red took a step towards me and shrugged. "I like the red head more," she stated plainly, staring intently at her nails. Luna ignored her friend's unenthusiasm and continued to marvel closely at my eyes. I blushed. Never in my life had anyone called them beautiful before...

"Uh, excuse me?" I asked and she almost seemed shocked that I had even spoken.  "Who are you people?!" Ron asked angrily and the girl in red, Lav, licked her lips and sighed. She too was very pretty. "Her Lady has requested we hold you in captivity for a while." She said nonchalantly and my eyes widened. I was about to protest when someone entered the tent. Another girl about my age. She wore blue like Luna except she had pitch black hair. If I hadn't been blushing before, I certainly was now.

"Her Lady requests an audience with the blind one," she said lightly and my eyes widened in anger. "Hey! I'm not blind!" I shouted but they ignored me. Luna untied my hands and the rope tying Ron and I together, grabbed my arm gently and stood me up. I would've immediately pushed her away if her hands hadn't been so unnaturally soft...

Lav grabbed my other arm and before I knew it, both my hands had been tied behind my back again. "Don't try anything." Lav sneered and I sneered back. As much as I wanted to leave, I had an odd feeling in my gut telling me to go with them. Luna let my arm go and I followed her and the dark haired girl out of the tent, leaving Ron calling after me.

When we exited, I gasped. It looked like a city of tents. Tents varying in size and colour were dotted around a very large clearing. The trees over head giving the clearing shade. Around the tents seemed to be wooden training obstacles. Then my eyes widened and my mouth fell open. The place was crowded with woman. All of them wearing either dresses, pants or shorts with the same armor as Luna. The colours of their outfits either blue, red, green or white. As I thought about it, I think the colours symbolized the four elements.

Luna and the dark haired girl led me through the camp and I tried to keep my head down. All the women were staring at me either laughing, frowning or seemed generally unamused. Like Lav. Once I managed to ignore their stares, I looked ahead of me. I was being led to the largest tent. It was a deep fusia and probably the height of an enormous oak tree. When we entered, my jaw dropped.

"Welcome, Harry. We've been waiting for you for a long time." A woman standing in the center of the tent said softly. Her voice scarily sweet. She had her back turned to me, but I could tell she was the one in charge. The tent we stood in was adorned with hanging vines that glowed white lights. Pillows and blankets littered the ground and there were a couple of insense candles in bowls held up by chains. Potted plants were being suspended in the air, an unknown and unusual breeze wafting through the room, making them move serenely. Hanging bowls of orange fire were dotted around the room giving everything a warm glow. The entire tent was being held up by a large tree trunk in the center. It was beautiful. I felt like I could sleep forever in here. Suddenly, the woman shifted her weight and I remembered what she had said.

"Why?" I asked and she chuckled a chuckled that made my stomach flutter uncomfortably.

"Because, little boy. Your ransom is worth more than you seem to be..."
