After a little more than five hours, the news of the missing hero of Konoha was spread across the Lands.
The Land of Fire was quick to alert everyone about Naruto's disappearance, and the excuse everyone came up with was the Akatsuki.
Naruto had a gut feeling Sakura knew where he went and who he went to. But the exact location was impossible to find, unless Kakashi used his hounds to sniff around.
Which is most unlikely, they might use them, but it would take them days to find him. He wasn't in the Land of Fire anymore, and wasn't planning on letting anyone find him so easily.
Sasuke was neutral about it, he only said to collect a load of supplies, and that they'll be in the cave for a while. He would go get extra things, while Naruto stayed close to the cave to prevent anyone finding him.
"I hope they find him soon." A woman whispered to someone.
Naruto was being guided by Sasuke through the village, he wore an oversized cloak with a hood to cover his head, he let Sasuke hold his hand to stir him away from anyone he could bump into.
Naruto was bored of being inside the cave, and Sasuke indulged to take him to buy food with him.
And the food sadly wasn't ramen.
It has been one week or so, and Sasuke and Naruto was buying food trying to stay out of the public eye.
The cloak luckily hid Naruto's identity, and Sasuke kept Naruto close by to keep an eye on him. His excuse was because Naruto is naive to his surroundings.
Naruto knew it was because he was worried of Naruto's safety, but he kept his opinion to himself.
They head back to the cave, and blocked the entrance with the oversized boulder that took both of them to move back.
They sat down in the dark, and slouched back against the rocky wall.
The distance between them was dangerously close, so close that Naruto's thigh touched Sasuke's own but neither of them moved.
"Are we going to train tonight again, Sasuke?"
"If the coast is clear then yeah."
"I want to try something new."
"Like what?"
"Like...finding a jutsu fit for both me and Kurama."
"Kurama? Who's that?"
"Kurama is the Nine-Tails name. He's a bit shy, but we got used to that."
"Hmph, i'm not shy, brat." Kurama said, which only Naruto could hear.
"You are too." Naruto mumbled back to Kurama.
"I think you'll find something fit for the both of you. You probably just have to learn how to control its chakra."
"I wish I knew how."
"Maybe balancing both of your chakras or something? You might have to figure that one out."
"Yeah..." Naruto said, his hand creeping to Sasuke's hand.
"What are you doing, Naruto?"
Naruto didn't respond, he searched for Sasuke's hand, and when he found it he intertwined their fingers together.
Sasuke's pulse was racing, he didn't know how to react, he never really held hands with someone like this before. He awkwardly closed his fingers on Naruto's hand, and held in his breath-he didn't know if this was right or not.
Naruto carefully rested his head on Sasuke's shoulder. "Let's stay like this for a while."
"Whatever." Sasuke said, his voice was low and breathy. He couldn't figure out how not to panic from Naruto's mild amount of affection.
After a while, Sasuke's heart calmed down, and he rested his head on top of Naruto's head to go to sleep.
Naruto smiled sleepily, before closing his eyes to go to sleep as well.
