A New Reign
Potential.
We are all born into this world to make an impact on society to do something great as we all have... potential. But what we are remembered for by loved ones and society is what we do with it. Some are able to use it on a grand scale by becoming the leaders and heroes of society. Others squander it becoming the bane of people's existence, the villains in the heroes' stories. Meanwhile there are people in between they are not the ones that are trying to lead the world into long awaited peace. Nor the ones that create chaos and burn the bonds that have been woven together that have strengthened humankind. But they are the people who can show acts of kindness during their busy days, they put smiles on faces by who they are or they are trying to become. These kinds of people have the potential to become greater things if they are given just one chance.

It was late spring afternoon as Sabrina Raincomprix sat in class at her desk meekly taking notes on her school issued tablet. The stylus in her hand glided across the screen as she listened to her teacher Ms. Bustier giving her history lesson about World War II. The young redhead pushed her hair behind her ear as she continued to write. Instead of her usual outfit, Sabrina was wearing a black sweater vest over a short sleeve white blouse with a teal and purple necktie, a purple plaid skirt that reached her knees, black knee socks, and black Mary Janes. She looked over to her best friend Chloè Bourgeois who was sitting next to her at their desk. The mayor's daughter seemed to be fiercely scribbling on her tablet with great enthusiasm. Sabrina raised her brow as it was usually her job to take notes for the both of them as that's what Chloè told her what best friends did.

So the idea of Chloè  picking up the slack was astounding yet refreshing.

Sabrina looked down at her friend's tablet to see how far she got in the PowerPoint slides. However what actually was on the tablet screen wasn't notes but also not that surprising. It was crude looking drawings, the kind that someone like Nathaniel wouldn't have to worry about his status as the class residential artist being challenged. The awkward perspective, uneven limbs and jagged shading, she was not a threat. Most of the drawings was Chloè as her former superhero persona Queen B. She was jumping off buildings, using her venom power, and throwing her trusty trompo in the air while being cheered on by citizens. But then Sabrina noticed in the corner of the screen there was a drawing of Queen B looking victorious while standing on the head of a girl who was laying flat on her stomach. The girl's hair was in pigtails and she was wearing a skin tight spotted suit.

The girl looked awfully a lot like Ladybug.

Sabrina shook her head, not being a bit surprised by the sketches. This seemed to all happen the night of Chloè's parents anniversary party when Sabrina answered her phone to hear Chloè screaming in her ear. The blonde told her that she now hated Ladybug, that the little red bug was the worst person in the city.

She hated her more than Marinette Dupain-Cheng! That statement caught the redhead by surprise as their classmate had been top of Chloè's hate list for such a long time. The mayor's daughter then droned on for hours telling Sabrina that she finally figured out why Ladybug withheld her miraculous.

It wasn't because of secret identities but because Ladybug was afraid that Queen B was going to upstage her! Queen B carried that team and Ladybug couldn't have that! That's why she hangs out with Chat Noir and the other subpar heroes! So no one would be able to upstage her.

That was what mainly Chloè has talked about these past couple weeks. How much that she hated Ladybug pointing out practically every possible flaw that heroine had. The times that Sabrina was able to squeeze in a few words between her friend's ranting she reminded Chloè that she had once admired Ladybug. She had even dressed up as her. This would cause Chloè to snap at her, asking the redhead who was her best friend?
