Two years later

Jack knocked on the door to Pulitzer's office. "Mr. Pulitzer?"
"Yes?"
"You're the closest man in Lindsay's life, right?"
"I'd say so. Why?"
"I wanted to- to- to ask you something." He stuttered
"You seem nervous." He said
"I am. I wanted to ask you if I could marry her."
Joe's eyes went wide. "You want to marry my niece?"
"Yes."
"Why should I let you?"
"Well, I really love her. When I met her two years ago, I thought, wow, she's gorgeous. She is such- she- she's so sweet, and a really bright and happy girl. She's smart. I know I ain't that smart, I wasn't in school long. I ain't rich either. I'm still a newsie, but we're really happy together. I wanna spend my life with her." Jack said
"Is your relationship doing well?" Joe asked
"Yes."
"Is she happy with you?"
"Yes."
"And are you happy with her?"
"Absolutely!"
"All right." He nodded, "You can marry Lindsay."
Jack jumped out of the chair. "Mr. Pulitzer, I can't thank you enough! You won't regret it, I swear!"
"Do you have a ring?"
"Yup." He rushed out of the building
He had gone over to Carol and told her the good news. "So I'll see you kids tonight?" She asked
"Yup. And get Katherine's camera if you can, please." Jack said
"See you soon."
He went back to the lodging house and found Lindsay. "Hey, sweetheart." He said
"Hi." They kissed
"I have a date planned for us tonight." He said
"Oh really?"
"Yup. Come on. We're gonna walk around a little bit. It's kinda far away." He said
They walked to Central Park. They stayed there until sunset. "I think it's about time. Come on." He said
They went to Carol's. Jack was trying his best to contain his nervousness. "What are we doing here?" Lindsay asked
"You'll see." He opened the door for her
Inside, there was a small table with two chairs. The room had a few dim candles. On the table we're two plates of spaghetti that Carol made. They sat down. A little while into eating, Jack paused.
He looked down at his plate and took a deep breath. "Lindsay." He said
"Yeah?"
"Um. We've been dating for a long time. We've both been through a lot together. And, I really love you. Lindsay, I love you more than anything in this world." He got down on one knee and opened the little box with the ring that used to be his mother's, "Will you marry me?"
She gasped. Her eyes filled with small tears. "Yes." She said
"Really?"
"Yes!" She stood up
"Oh my gosh!" He stood and put the ring on her finger
He embraced her in a huge hug that she returned. "Baby, this is great!" He said
"I love you!"
"I love you too!" He kissed her
When they finished eating, they helped clean up. Carol snapped a picture of them. Lindsay said hi to Richard who was two years old now, then they went home. "Guys, we got great news!" Jack exclaimed
"Morris got arrested too?" Race asked
"Nope. We're getting married!" Lindsay exclaimed
Then came the chants of "Oh my gosh!" And "That's amazing!" And "Congratulations!"
They were all returned with thank yous. And from that day forward, she was no longer Twitch, she was Lindsay. She was still.
