Everything was so peaceful... for once I felt as if I could breathe. Even if the past weeks had been filled with pleasure, I still felt like I was holding my breath. Everything was going so fast... my mind simply couldn't keep up. This moment of absolute emptiness was a way out of all this. I needed to exhale.
Ever since I was 14, I had terrible panic and anxiety attacks. My parents always took care of me and after a while I would calm down. Sometimes to relax when they weren't with me, I would listen to music or a movie but, as I got older, the panic attacks started to get more intense and more frequent. Our doctor had given me tricks to calm myself down whenever music or films wouldn't work, but his suggestions never helped me. It was as if nothing worked anymore. Stress was strangling me and I couldn't breathe. I never told Sam about them. I didn't want to worry him. That was until we were about 16. That's when they got really bad...
I had gone to a party with Sam, Harry and other people. It was at some senior guy's house. Funny enough I thought my first party would be great... it wasn't. Sam and I had drank maybe two beers and had a couple shots. I was tipsy and started feeling a bit weak. I was still fully aware of everything that was surrounding me but... I wasn't at my best. Sam had left me to talk to some people while Harry was making out with some girl. The party seemed to have slowed down due to everyone being hammered. That's when I saw him. This guy was trying to trap a girl and force her while pushing her against the wall. I could see that she was NOT comfortable. I yanked him away from her by the shirt and told him to fuck off. The girl immediately left, leaving me with him. I walked away to the kitchen and tried calming down.
Everything was spinning a little bit. I took a deep breath and drank some water. When suddenly, as I was leaning down with my elbows on the table, I felt a hand slapping my ass. My eyes flew open with so much anger. Yet, not a word came out as I was shocked to see the guy from earlier walking away with a smirk. I felt so disgusted. Half an hour later I decided to get away from the music and the big crowd and went to the basement. I decided to lie down on the couch. I was comfortable until I heard a deep voice breaking my calm.
"Hey... you know you look good?" He said as I stood up from the couch while giving him a bothered glance.
"Leave me alone" I spat out as I left before he stopped me by grabbing my wrist and pulling me against the couch.
As his grip started to get stronger around my arm, I tried pushing him away but it only made him hold me even harder.
"Let me go..." I said as I tried to weakly move.
"Come on..." he whined as the smell of hard liquor in his breath hit my face.
"No... stop" I said as I kept trying to get away as he started touching me.
"Hey Em you gotta see this!" Yelled Sam as he came downstairs, making the guy finally leave me alone.
I quickly ran to Sam who was completely drunk, therefore not really conscious to what I was about to say:
"Sam please don't leave me. This guy keeps grabbing me and—" I started as we walked away before Sam yelled.
"BEER PONG! Come on let's play!" Said Sam as he pointed to the table with cups filled with alcohol.
