There I was, waiting for a sign of life to indicate that I could take off the blindfold. I could feel my heart racing. A thousand thoughts came rushing through my mind and I couldn't help but giggle of excitement. I would be lying if I didn't admit that I was also extremely nervous... but it didn't matter because, I knew that somewhere, close to me, was the man I loved.

"Ok..." I heard Tom's shaky voice reach out to me. "You can take it off..." he said, taking a deep breath.

I slowly and carefully removed the blindfold, keeping my eyes shot. I could hear faint music playing in the back.

I opened my eyes... there he was. The man I loved. I quickly took conscience of my environment to see that I was standing on a movie theatre stage. I slowly spinned around, taking in all the emotions that were bringing me this surprise. I suddenly realized that every person I loved was sitting in the front row. I weakly waved at them. The melody was now louder and the peaceful rhythm was filling my heart with joy. The movie projector lit up, causing me to directly turn around. Never in my wildest dreams would I have anticipated this. It was us... all of us. Clips of our past. Videos of me and the boys playing, laughing. Memories of our best childhood moments together, mixed with recent ones. A video of Tom and I slow dancing with only candle lights to bright up our darkened figures appeared, making me smile at this perfect moment. Tears rolled down my face as I watched my life go by on the silver screen. I turned around, ready to kiss the love of my life. My eyes wandered for a second to meet with his slowly lowering body. His stare caught mine as he rested one knee on the ground.

I couldn't breathe. My heart had simply... stopped.

"Emily... My Darling... My Love... My Baby..." he started as he chuckled with tears in his eyes. He rested a hand on his elevated knee as he reached into his pocket, removing from it a small velvet box. I gasped as my breathing came back. My hands were now covering my lower face as more tears pearled on my cheeks.

"I know... I know we have had some... difficult times. But, I realized that, from the moment that I met you, I could never love another person as much as I love you... I know this is fast but... trust me it will all be ok." He gestured as a small reassuring smile formed briefly on those thin lips. I nodded as I wrapped my arms around my waist. " Em... I love you, with all my heart. You... you are my life. I always stayed by your side because... I felt it was my duty to protect you, when in fact, I was just trying to find a reason to stay near you. When you left... my heart felt empty. A piece of me had left and I was terrified at the thought of losing you. But... kneeling here today... after this amazing day... I feel complete again. I don't ever want to feel this absence, ever again..." He took a deep breath, never slipping his sight from mine, he gently opened the box, revealing a beautiful golden loop, mounted by a diamond.

"Tom..." I whispered as my chin trembled and my eyes filled with joyful tears.

"Emily... would you... make me the luckiest man on earth... and accept this ring..." he chuckled nervously as he started crying.

"Yes..." I whispered as he smiled.

"Emily Smith... will you marry me?" He finally asked as both our breathing was heaving. I took a deep breath and said:

"Yes!" I jumped in his arms as he lifted me from the ground, spinning me in the air.

Everyone in the room applauded as the music wrapped us in the moment. I buried my head in his neck as he kept me in the air. Even with my eyes closed, I could still see the flashing memories of my past as I was starting a new chapter in my life. I looked up at my Love as he placed me down and cupped his face.

"I love you Thomas... I always have..." I began with a weak voice as I rested my forehead against his.

"I always will..." he whispered before planting a tender kiss on my lips.

This moment. This very moment was, for me, the definition of love. I was completely and irrevocably in love with the man in my arms. I was in a total state of happiness. The soft piano notes slowed my heart as I detached myself from him to look at him. His stare was serene. Our families climbed up the stage and joined us as we all laughed and cried. Tom's brother hugged him strongly. He took a deep breath as if he could finally relax. I talked to my "two" moms and they both gasped at the ring.

"Tom you have amazing taste Darling!" Nikki exclaimed to her son afar as she examined the ring.

"You will make a beautiful bride Emy..." sobbed my mom as I embraced her in my arms.

"Thank you mom..." I sniffed as I buried my face in the crook of her neck, holding on to her tightly.

Tom's point of view:

"Good job mate... I'm... I'm happy for you... wow! My best friend and my brother... that's... ummm... that's something. I'm just glad she finally found someone to love her properly." Said Sam as he tapped my shoulder and gave me a brotherly hug.

"Thanks Sammy... I could've never done this without you..." I whispered in his ear.

"No problem Tom..." he whispered back. We slightly parted and immediately broke our hug and shrugged off this emotional tension between us. We coughed a little and shook hands in a manly manner as we both laughed a bit at our feelings. Harry hooked both arms around Sam and I and jumped a little.

"Can't wait for stag night!" He cheered as we all laughed and rolled our eyes at his humour.

"Could I speak to my fiancé please..?" A sweet voice spoke from behind me. I slowly turned around and saw her...

"That would be me..." I whispered as I could feel the muscles in my body relaxing at the sight of her beauty. I wrapped my arms around her waist, bringing her closer to me as she hooked her arms around my collar to play with my curls. Her hands massaging my scalp as we slowly rocked to the slow music was bringing me into a trance. All I could see was her...

She was my always...

Emily's point of view

I looked up at those dashing brown eyes. I could still see the dried trail of his tears painted on his cheek as I examined every detail of his face. We both closed our eyes to rest against one another as the mumbles surrounding us slowly disappeared... We swayed to the music as the images of my past lit up our future. We were both at peace...

He was my always...
