Nola POV
Life was so fucking unfair!
She sat in her pimped-out BMW that her brother-in-law gifted her for her twenty-first birthday and screamed. No one was there but her to hear the loud screams. If someone walked by as she sat in the car parked in the lot of her sisters' mall they may think she was a crazy person.
She did not care.
Life was so unfair. She lost her sister Ashley just four months ago. She was only thirty years old and had a whole life ahead of her, and now she was gone.
Her sisters Kitty and Kryssy were kidnapped and tortured by that animal TA. At least that fucker was dead now. She wanted to dig him out of his grave and blow what was left of his brains out, slit his throat, rip his heart out of his chest and stuff his dick down his throat. She never hated someone as much as she hated him.
But as her sister said to her, some of her dying words, "Live life, don't let it live you."
She had to do more living!
She broke up with her boyfriend Tone, even though he was the hottest, sweetest guy ever. He was so in love with her and she wished she felt the same. She thought he was what she needed after a bad breakup with her first boyfriend. Live and learn.
She was now enrolled in college at Missouri State University right in Springfield, Missouri. She wanted to earn a bachelor's and master's degree simultaneously. Her new study of interest was Criminology, a drastic difference from Biology to becoming a pediatrician. Now she wanted to focus on catching criminals, psychos like Tucker Anderson who terrorized her family. She wanted to become a profiler for the FBI.
On top of all that, she amped up her fight training. She was beyond what her brother-in-law Victor could teach get. Now she was focused on learning as many forms of martial arts as she could. Right now she knew judo, taekwondo, jujitsu, Kung Fu, karate, and muay Thai. As well as training in various firearms, swords, knives, nunchucks, and Chinese stars.
Of course, to overload on this in a matter of months, she had to become a machine. She trained six hours every single day, she was in the gym every single day and she ran three to four miles every other day. She only ate good, clean protein, fresh veggies, and good carbs to fuel her workouts. Her body was lean but muscular. She put Kitty's six-pack to shame.
But it was not about looking good, it was about feeling good. And defending herself and her family from another predator. Like her big sister Sarena, she now was licensed to carry two guns wherever she went.
She could not carry them on campus at Missouri State University, so she kept a pocketknife with her, mace, and brass knuckles. Dressed to impress just to attend boring classes where she already knew everything. One might call her a genius, she could speed read a textbook and know everything in it and recite it back and what page it was on.
She always learned quickly and bored of school very easily unless she studied ahead of everyone. Teachers never knew what to do with her and begged that she be put up a few grades. Her mother insisted she stay with her age group of peers. Sarena and Victor kept on with her wishes after her mother died when she was fourteen.
She did graduate two years early at age sixteen. A lot of good that helped when she dropped out of St. Louis University during her senior year to stay home in Springfield. She would still graduate with two degrees in record time.
She was ready to put those degrees to get used. It was going to take a lot more studying beyond her books and fight training, to become a federal agent. Her favorite show was Criminal Minds. On that show, there were some real crazies, and she wanted to study that behavior and learn how to catch them.
For now, blend in and just get by.
This was the first week of classes at Missouri State. She had already read the first ten chapters of her first class, and thus, sat there bored and mind wandering. She thought of her sisters. They were all going on with their lives after the hell they all went through.
Sarena was no longer working at Da Factory Hitz Records, her brother-in-law Icee's record company. After her affair with Icee's best friend T-Zack came out, Sarena and Victor went to counseling to try to fix whatever was broken. How could Sarena do that to Victor? He would never do that to her, but she cheated on him.
Well, there was that time before they were married, but she was a kid herself, and she did not understand what really happened.
Now Sarena worked as a manager to big-time singer Ginger Hollands. If she did well with that, she could be big time.
Then there was Kitty, still happily married to Icee, the man that changed all their lives. If it was not for Icee falling in love with Kitty, maybe all of that TA nonsense would have never happened.
She could not think that way. Crazy seemed to follow the Kelly sisters.
Kitty now had three babies and handled it all as if it was one. She still ran her mall, she still was that boss chick, the head chick in charge. Of all her sisters, she wished she could be more like Kitty.
Kryssy was doing better than expected as well. After being tortured and kidnapped, and having her baby a month early, she married her baby daddy Primo, and she and baby Kerrie moved to Italy. Out of the country! Her sister was thousands of miles away from her and she would not see her niece grow up.
Well, she facetimed them often. Kryssy seemed to be doing well. She was in love, and happy, and opened up a KStyle Fashions branch in Milan. The business was doing good. Primo was a billionaire, so they had the means to travel back home to Springfield often, she just did not want to with Kerrie so small.
And then there was Tennille. Her best friend. Her road dog. Her everything.
Well, she up and decided to move to Los Angeles permanently. Even after the whole AKA disaster, she loved that city. Her singing career was taking off tenfold now with her second album versus her first. She was in high demand. Every day Tennille was on somebody's show promoting her music or releasing new videos or guesting on someone's song. She was in high demand.
She could not forget about her long-lost baby brother. CJ was only two months younger than her but she liked calling him her baby brother. When her father ran off right after she was born, he ran off to be with another woman who was pregnant with his only son, Christopher Junior. It had not been a year yet knowing him and she was already close to him. He was her other best friend. But even he had a life, in the studio a lot working on an album.
That left her pretty much the only one with no life outside of school and her training. No other friends, no boyfriend, and nothing exciting going on in her life.
She needed to change that and change it quickly. She was too young to live life like an old maid. Still a virgin at twenty-one. It was time to stop being the quiet sister and come out of her shell.
A/N: Well there you have it. Ms. Nola Kelly! Get ready for a ride with her. See her break out of her shell.
