Nola POV

What the hell had she gotten herself into?

This was not a simple case of a fangirl sliding into their DMs, this was something more. This was serious death threats, stalking, and attempted kidnapping.

She began to worry if she was the right person for the job. She was not familiar with the city and the people, and their typical infatuation with celebrities. She knew most die-hard fans felt as if they knew the celebrity. As if they belonged to them.

Tone had the DMs but it was Riyah they wanted to harm.

"Have you ever had any of your fans come at you like this before?" she asked Riyah while she tried to assess the situation fully, over dinner, prepared by her chef. This was life.

"Me? They are sending them to Tone, not me! It's his crazed stan. They want me out of the way so they can have him. These girls are wild nowadays." Riyah went on and on, seemingly without taking a breath. "I mean, I have always gotten attention in the past and have been flattered, but nothing like this. They stalk me, they stalk him, it's like...they want to be me. They want Tone all to themselves, never mind we're engaged and having a baby."

She crossed her eyes to Tone who nodded his head in agreement.

"Tone has only been a public figure for a small amount of time. Their obsession is deep-rooted, took some time to fester." This all was not adding up to her. Why now come after Riyah or Tone? They had a popular reality show where viewers could watch their mundane everyday life. Most of the things she saw when she viewed the shows were two regular people trying too hard to be overdramatic. As most reality shows did. Drama equaled viewers.

"You're saying I can't have a crazed stalker fan because I'm a nobody?" Tone said to her.

"That is not what I said." She blew out a frustrated breath at him. "They seem to know the whereabouts of Riyah, where she shops, where you guys live, wrecked her closet-"

"And took my clothes!" Tone said. "NoNo, you're coming at this all wrong. Someone wants to hurt Riyah to get with me."

She made no such conclusions, and neither should he. She needed more to go on, but she did not want to sit around and wait for them to attempt something again. If these two were not going to be much help, she had to do this without them.

Riyah kept blabbing about the show and wanting to keep filming for their fans. Everything did not need to be filmed, what did she not understand? Tone put up a good front, and tried to stay macho for his girl, but he had blinders on when it came down to it. Whatever Riyah said, he agreed with and so the cameras were back on, long as they did not get her, talk of her, or even mention her name.

She was "a private investigator" brought to the case and no footage of her would be seen.

It seemed like Riyah relished the added drama, talking about it nonstop for the camera crew every chance she could. Giving her stalker more access to their life was not ideal. Nowadays, relationships that were televised on these types of shows never lasted. It was a curse.

What the hell were they thinking?

Again, anything for views and money. She thought Tone was better than that.

They were two big-time public people now, thanks to this little reality show. They were like Keeping Up with the Kardashians now. Every little thing they did was televised to the world. How could Tone sign up for something like that? Was the money good? Did the show help sell his records?

If she was still with him, no way in hell would she have agreed to it.

The question still stood, were they after Tone or Riyah?
