it's time for the second round. all players were situated in a dome-like building

each one of them had their own ancestral statues behind them—representing their clan

they each have a red ring attached to their watch, which apparently gives them certain abilities

when the timer rung, kumiho's ears twitched at the sound of whispering

❝ so pala joined forces with lonky and popo?—bad idea old man ❞, she shook her head and walked the other direction

❝ team up with me ❞

kumiho flinched, quickly swinging her arms back when someone caught her wrist. she glanced back to find kuga towering over her with a blank look

she exhaled sharply, ❝ never—ever sneak up on me unless you're asking for a death wish ❞, she crossed her arms and look away

kuga rolled his eyes, ❝ yeah, yeah—my humblest apology, your majesty ❞

he smiled when the girl stuck a tongue out at him, ❝ so childish.. ❞

❝ you guys teaming up? ❞, miyo asked, appearing from behind with her arms crossed, ❝ let me join too ❞

❝ oh? two hotshots on my team—isn't this my lucky day ❞, kumiho says, licking her lips. she giggled at the bashful looks on their faces

kumiho wiped the sweat gathering on her forehead and huff. so much has happened in the past fifteen minutes

lonky's team witnessed kuga's ability and let's say—they might've fainted multiple times and much to her dismay, pala was betrayed by his own team

miyo had to hold her in place before she could demolish the long neck bitch

but luckily pala wasn't out yet due to his ability—a second life

❝ einstein's heading towards us ❞, she says, pointing to her left

her teammates looked at where she's pointing and got into a fighting stance

❝ woah relax guys! i mean no harm—seriously! ❞, liu scratched the back of his neck, ❝ i was hoping i could join your team perhaps? ❞

kuga glanced at miyo and she understood. waving a hand over her eyes, she analyses him, ❝ it's teleportation ❞

❝ that could be useful for us you know ❞, kumiho says and looked up at kuga. he nodded at her statement

liu thanked her mentally and begins to explain his plan

❝ wait— ❞, kumiho cuts in, ❝ so you're saying we tag gai out first? ❞

liu nodded, ❝ yeah since he's able to duplicate himself and with he addition of his new ability, it's going to be impossible to defeat him ❞, he explained, adjusting his glasses with a wide grin

❝ alright well we're going to have to hurry up because he's staring at us right now ❞

miyo bonked her head, ❝ couldn't you have said that earlier?! ❞

❝ uh sorry? ❞

the others sighed at the girl before splitting up—still going towards the clueless shadow warrior

kumiho wrapped her arm around his torso, her blade resting under his chin

❝ move and my blade will slice that neck of yours clean ❞, she warned him, her voice dripping with venom

miyo took this chance and tag him out

❝ nice job, darling ❞, both girls shared a high five

just as they thought they there's nothing to worry—lonky's voice could be heard from miles away

❝ think you could get rid of us that easily?! ❞

kuga raised a brow, ❝ uh yep ❞

liu sweat dropped at the nonchalant response and shared a look with kumiho, she shrugged

something about lonky's cocky smirk made her feel a little bit uneasy—this man was unpredictable at times

they watched as he messed about with his watch until a shadow paw emerged from beneath kuga's feet

his teammates watched as he gets dragged out and into the pitch black tunnel

❝ what the fuck..? ❞

❝ how's that possible?! ❞

❝ kuga.. ❞

kumiho turned to the remaining players, ❝ we need to get rid of him—fast ❞
