"Ease up a little bit," Clint says, adjusting my position. "There you go. Work with the jet, don't try to control it."

"You're terrified right now, aren't you?" I ask him.

"That's an understatement. I'm shocked Bruce hasn't had an accidental code green," he replies.

"Aw. You'll make me blush," I joke as something pops up on one of the monitors. "Okay, I think I'm seeing heat signatures in that ship over there. Must be him." I point to the corresponding ship.

"Good first flight, Kat," Clint says, squeezing my shoulders. "I'll put us on the ground if you want."

"Could you?" We quickly trade places and I go sit with the rest of the team.

"Nice job, kid," Tony says. "You didn't kill us all."

"Thanks. That was way scarier than driving a car," I say, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

"It's a big jump," Nat says. "Both get easier with practice."

I notice Bruce sitting off to the side with his headphones on. "Is Bruce okay?" I ask.

"Yeah. We might all be scared of your driving skills, but we all have faith in you. Including Bruce," Steve says, giving me a side hug.

"Are you trying to make me feel better?"

"Is it working?"

I almost don't want to admit it. "Yes."

"Then yes. We can take care of this guy if you want to stay back," Steve offers. "You didn't want to come in the first place. We won't blame you if you want to sit out."

"Tempting. But I came all this way. I might as well be useful," I answer, slipping on my mask. The bay door opens on the Quinjet and we all get off.

"Okay, I got him in my sights. Follow me," Tony says, flying into the ship. Our friendly neighborhood rich guy seems to have forgotten that not all of us can fly.

"God, what died in here?" I comment as we enter the ship. It's all the smells I can't stand, rolled into one super-smell. Decay, saltwater, blood, urine, and...bleu cheese? Looking down, I see Ultron standing across from Ulysses Klaue, who's propped up against the wall with pain written on his features. The reason why he looks to be so in pain quickly stands out to me. "Last time I saw this guy, he had two arms."

"Stark is...he's a sickness!" Ultron's saying, clearly agitated.

"Aw, Junior. You'll break your old man's heart," Tony says, landing behind Ultron. Thor and Steve are standing behind Tony while Clint, Nat, and I wait from behind a wall.

"If I have to," Ultron says as Wanda and Pietro stand behind him.

"Nobody has to break anything," Thor says.

"Clearly you've never made an omelet," Ultron replies.

"He beat me by one second," Tony grumbles, and I stifle a laugh.

"Ah, yes, he's funny, Mr. Stark," Pietro says, moving closer to Tony. "It's what? Comfortable? Like old times?"

I notice the missiles lying under the bridge and apparently, Tony does too. "This was never my life," Tony says.

"You two can still walk away from this," Steve says.

"Oh, we will," Wanda says mockingly.

"I know you've suffered," Steve continues, his tone steady.

"Agh. Captain America. God's righteous man. Pretending you could live without a war," Ultron chides. "I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but—"

"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it," Thor says.
