CHAPTER 15

LEANNA

“Miss Leanna, hindi nyo pa po ito naco-confirm!”

Nasunod ang mga tao sa aking likod papuntang office ko. Grabe hell month na. Sobrang daming gawa. “Please come back later. Necessary na ba ‘yan?” magmamakaawa ko sa kanila.

It has been months since John left and I was stressed because of work. It has been weeks since my last sleep. Kailan ba to matatapos? “Sheena if you are pagod na, you can go.” Sabi ko habang nags-sign ng ibang papers.

“No Lea, if you’re working, so am I.”

Napapaiyak na lang ako sa pagod. I want to rest so fucking much. “When is my parents’ return?”

“Tomorrow na po Ma’am.”

I can ask them to lend some help. “Please call my mom for me.” Agad kinuha ni Sheena ang aking telepono at di-nial na rin ang number.

“Hello Mrs. Adair. This is Sheena speaking.” She handed me the phone.

“Hello mother,” I calmly said while reading the papers.

[Dear what’s wrong?] I looked at Sheena and gestured to her to go outside. She understood me and left.

Now I am all alone. “Mom, I miss you.”

Tears fell down my cheeks. Fuck, I am so tired that I want to die so badly. [I am going home now my love. Please wait for me. Be strong.] I heard her footsteps and bags clattering.

“Mom, I am so tired. Please help me.” I sobbed so bad. I was longing for my Mom’s love since she is a busy woman too.

[Be strong my love, Mommy is coming home.]

[Leandro we need to go. Our daughter……she needs help.] She is talking to father on the phone.

“Daddy.” I said to the phone. I heard his gasp through the phone and guessed it right, he took the phone.

[Lea, my darling, I booked a flight after hearing your condition. We are going to come home soon. Be strong. You are an independent woman, beautiful and hardworking. I love you. We are gonna comfort you after we get home okay? We are coming home now.]

I can’t clearly hear my dad’s voice. “Daddy I feel dizzy.”

My eyesight troubled me so much. I can’t see things clearly.

[Darling are you okay? I am gonna call our hospital.]

“Daddy I am scared.”

Then the lights suddenly turned off. [Lea?!]

“Lea!”

I heard cries everywhere and felt around me. Tears drowning me. “Call the ambulance!”

I slowly opened my eyes. Blood everywhere in my body. “Alert! A survivor!”

I felt them carrying me and covering my wounds under the night sky then suddenly darkness took over me.

“A survivor!”

I opened my eyes, seeing myself in another room. Pure white walls…..Am I in the hospital?

“Lea!” I didn’t feel the tears coming from my eyes because I’m suddenly hugged by this person. I felt special, precious and loved by people.

“Fuck, I shouldn’t left you.”

I hugged him more tightly but he stopped. Hindi ko siya inaasahan na makita ulit pero na ito ulit siya. “I missed you.”

He kissed my forehead again and again. “I missed you more. Every second feels like hell.”

“I am not dead?” he looked at me worriedly and kissed my hands. He looks like he is going to cry any minute. “You are not dead. You are alive.”

“I missed you.”

He hugged me like there was no end. How will this unexpected person be by my side? “You will be fine, I am here and I don’t want to leave if you are like this.”

“It feels like déjà vu.” He looked at me with a shocked face but with curiosity.

“What do you mean Leanna?”

Tapos nagising na ako sa realidad. I was not daydreaming, it was reality.

“I am not Adrian.”

He caressed my cheek. Fuck, I thought this man in front of me is Adi but he is clearly John.

“Lea!”

He hugged me as soon as he saw me in the hospital bed. “Why did you study so fucking hard?! Let yourself get some rest!” I wiped down his tears and smiled at him.

“I missed you,”

“What’s happening to me?” Why am I thinking about Adi right now when John is the one who came for me.

Adrian is no longer mine and I am not his.

“I am John Adryan Celerio Dixon and I love you,”

He kissed my forehead and felt tears coming from him.

“Leanna Katarina! Anong nangyari?!” Abigail barged in the room while her hair was messy, it looks like she is having a hard time too.

“What the fuck happen?!" She hugged me and I hugged her back.

“Wag kang gagaya sa bestfriend mo. Masyadong nagpapagod.” Sabi ko sa kanya. Abigail pulled out and looked at me sadly. I kissed her cheek. “I am okay.”

They all glared at me. “Putangina mo. Yun lang masasabi ko.”

Dean put his arms in Abigail’s waist to calm her down. Biglang nag-ring cellphone ko. “Hello Lia at Lucas!” I greeted them via video call.

[Leanna, ilang beses na to nangyari sayo kaya tumigil ka na!] Nilayo ko ng medyo ang cellphone ko sa mukha ko dahil ang lakas ng boses ni Lucs.

[Lea are you okay? I am so worried!] Amelia shared her sincerity while Lucas was glaring at me.

“I am okay now guys, don’t worry too much.” I looked at them and found out John was missing. “Where’s John?” I questioned them. They looked at each other weirdly.

“Kukuha lang daw ng fresh air.” Seryosong sabi ni Dean.

I may have offended him. Bakit kasi hinahanap ko pa rin si Adi? Dahil siya palagi ang naggagamot sa akin sa bahay?

“Hey Lucs….I have a question.”

[Yes? What is it?] Huminga ako ng malalim.

“How is Adi?” I heard Abi’s gasp when I looked at them. Dean was so shocked that his eyes widened. “How is he?” tanong ko ulit sa dalawa.

I put the atmosphere in an intense situation. Baka iniisip nila na ‘Bakit ako nag-aalala sa ex ko.’

I will never treat him as an ex because he will forever be my First Love.

[He is doing good, don’t worry. Alalahanin mo sarili mo wag ‘yung ex mo! Pag Nalaman to ni Adrian, baka mapauwi siya.] John said so sarcastically but I felt relieved.

“Kala ko siya ‘yung lalaki kanina….pero si John pala ‘yun. The situation is so look alike that I taught it is the real one..”

“I thought he was the one..”
