CHAPTER 19
LEANNA
“What the hell is going on?”
“Hala Architect De Castro at Engineer Delmiguez!
“I think I need to call an ambulance.”
I sighed and walked over the small kitchen they made. Sugar, cream and tada, I made them their favorite coffee.
They sniffed the coffee and immediately stand up. “Leanna’s coffee is the best.” They said both half-sleep and half-alive.
Parehas nilang hinawakan ang cup and they glared at each other. “Can’t you see, Lea made this for me.” Sabi ni Dean trying his best to get the cup from Lucs, both of them have no energy.
“Buhay pa pala tayo.” Pareho ko silang sinampal pero mahina lang. “Gising na ba kayo?”
They looked at me confused. “Why are you here?” tiningnan nila ang paligid at nagpanik. ‘Yan tuloy nabubo nila ang kape.
“Oh no!
Dalawang araw lang pala ang kanilang work time kaya pala in haste sila but still, the office is like a brand new room.
There are so many changes. Iba na ang furniture, even my desks and cabinets. I love when they change the cabinets with more storage because I have so many papers. My old chair, which is so expensive and the cause of my back pain was removed yet a new comfortable chair exists in the office .
“John, thank you.” Umupo ako sa aking bagong chair, oh my gosh. It is so comfortable!
“Glad you like it.”
We smiled at each other then had lunch together with Abi.
“Oh my gosh I am so sorry, I’m so late!” nagpapanic kong sabi sa kanila. “Gosh, can we just go inside.”
It has been 219 days since John first courted me. Hindi ko pa rin siya sinagot because I am still finding the right moment.
Papunta kaming Baguio to have fun lang.
“Guess what, pumunta akong ukay-ukay and I thrifted a Jimmy Choo shoe.” Lia bragged her story while entering the van.
“Can I see it?” tanong ni Abigail. “Nope, I haven’t found its pair. I am still sad about that. Why naman kasi ganun kagulo ang ukay-ukay. They don’t put signs there. The female and male clothes are together like what the heck?”
“Ang aga-aga Lia, tumahimik ka nga muna.” Dean said while closing his eyes, attempting to fall asleep. “What? I was talking to Abi not you!” sinampal niya ng mahina si Dean at himala, he didn’t fight back.
“He’s not dead, isn’t he?” nilagay ni Amelia ang kanyang daliri sa ilong ni Dean para icheck kung nahinga pa ba siya or hindi. I think they are funny to be together but if Dean is awake right now, it will be so annoying. They always quarrel.
John is the last one to enter the van.
