Chapter 16

"Gavin?" I yelled, twirling my car keys. Andy stood behind me hanging on the door frame.

"What! Lacey, sky and I are watching jersey shore" he yelled back.

"You have to come with me, mom's orders! Your mom! Not mine!" I said.

"Come on. Where do we have to go?" Gavin whined. How old are we, seven?

"Have you noticed the lack of anything drinkable besides water in our fridge" I yelled back getting annoyed.

"Fineeeeeeeeeeee" he said dragging out the word.

"Yeah sky? Lacey? Don't have to wild of a party we should be back in a flash" Andy said as we walked out the door.

In fact I was surprised Lacey hadn't come with. She loved hanging on Gavin like the monkey she was.

Driving there was boring. Conversation was centered on video games and jersey shore. Oh and I had to listen to Andy song rocketeer, in case you're wondering. His voice makes babies cry.

You think I'm kidding but I'm not. It's worse than a root canal except it is in your ears. This makes it worse. Much much worse.

Then when we got to the store Gavin was mauled by two seven year olds. This was cute but quite demonic.

"Mommy!" the dark haired one tugged her mother's dress and pointed.

"Why don't you to go say hello, stars come out in public to be seen" she stated matter of factly.

Yeah that wasn't the biggest lie I have ever heard or anything.

The two girls came running at us top speed. The lighter haired girl grabbed at Gavin's pants jumping up on him.

I was smarter than him and I got down to the girls level.

Anywho, Gavin got pantsed, by a seven year old. No big deal.

Unfortunately the paparazzi weren't there yet to snap photos so all I have is the sweet memory of the seven years face when she revealed Gavin's palm tree boxers.

Oh and Gavin's Girly scream.

Needless to say after the "incident" Gavin waited in the car while Andy and I began shopping.

"Crap I forgot my wallet, sir pants-less, will just have to help you shop until I get back" I said dashing out to my car and kicking Gavin out so I could speed home.

I felt like a dur on moments like this. When you forget something essential.

I took off my shoes and shut the door in a hurry. Wait a second.... I couldn't hear the TV. Anywhere...

I tiptoed downstairs and no one was there. That's when I heard a scream.

Oh my god. We are being robbed they have Lacey and sky as hostages! Ha-ha... Who would want Lacey?

I snuck upstairs. I don't even know why I did, normally I would have ran out the door and been off like a prom dress!

But I stayed. At the top of the steps I heard Lacey scream again, then laugh.

Oh snap.... The pieces of the puzzle began to come together.

They weren't... In the spare bedroom! Dang!

"Skylar!" I yelled banging on the door. A mosaic of colorful language could be heard in the other room following Lacey whispering "let's pretend we are asleep"

"get your clothes on and get the heck out here!" I said calmly, feeling strangely like a police officer.

A few moments later they both emerged. Hair messed up and Ew, I don't even want to picture what they might have been doing.

"Explain" I said placing my hand on my hip. "Because last time I check you have a boyfriend"

"one who doesn't do anything!" complained Lacey twirling her hair.

"Skylar I could care less that you did it, you only get to hang around because I didn't tell Gavin what you did and I told Andy he couldn't beat the crap out of you. but Lacey, don't even think about breaking Gavin's heart, because there is no one to restrain me back and I will break your face." I paused.

"You have until seven tonight to tell Gavin. That's four hours. I'd suggest you get your crap together, because I'm not understanding or forgiving"

She nodded, Skylar standing next to her just looking annoyed.

"When I get back those sheets better be washed" I said "and remember four hours Lacey" Then I walked down the steps and got back into the car taking my rage out on the road.

I don't know why but I felt bad for Gavin. It was a gross feeling sense I hated his guts.

I pointed to my watch glaring at a guilty looking Lacey. Skylar left to eat with his family. It was now 6:45.

I walked over to Lacey. "Hey lace. Can I have a word with you" Gavin eyed me up suspiciously. "Girl stuff" I shrugged. She nodded and walked with me down a hallway.

"Tell him or I will now" I hissed.

Then I turned her shoulders and pushed her back into the room.

"Oh my god," I moaned as I walked back into the kitchen.

"What?" asked Andy talking a spoonful of his Chinese take-out.

"i mean I'm on this diet but I just ate Chinese, I totally CHEATED" I yelled whipping my head towards Lacey as I said cheated.

She rolled her eyes and Gavin gave me a pleading glance. I adverted my gaze down ward.

"Gavin... There's something I should have told you four hours ago" Lacey whispered.

"Okay" Gavin said quietly. Why was I having such a problem watching his heart break...? Why did it drive me insane after he did it to me?

This should feel good right? Why doesn't this feel good?

Andy dropped his fork on his plate to watch the drama unfold as I stood frozen the tension as thick as molasses in the kitchen.

"I... Well. I cheated on you." she said. Tears welled up in my eyes as I watched Gavin heart break. The look on his face was enough.

I wanted to hurt Lacey. Wanted to kill her make her pay for what she had done. I wanted to comfort Gavin. I wanted to be there for him. But that was wrong right?

"What happened?" he choked out.

A/n

Karma. Bad things were bound to happen to Gavy-bear sometime.

Maybe I'll kill Lacey via bus. I'm not sure :)
