FIRST ADVENTURE?
P A R T O N E

Asterin's POV:

Giggling, laughing and joyful shouts is what rouses me from a dreamless sleep. My hair knotted and tangled from restless tossing and turning. Amy's voice echoed through my room as the lights slowly shine brighter. Huffing I slide out of my bed pushing the sheets off of my body, slowly walking into my bathroom to start my morning. I turn the shower on, brushing my teeth as I wait for the water to heat up. Picking a fluffy black towel - placing it on the side - I wash my body, hair and face.

Picking out an outfit I settle for blue denim boyfriend jeans, long sleeved low cutting cropped black t-shirt and an oversized black, red and white flannel shirt. With some white converses', jewellery, brown belt and minimal makeup I swipe a book from the book shelf to keep me entertained whilst I witness Amy flirting with The Doctor even though I'm pretty sure Mels said that Amy and Rory were still together and serious. Stopping, I turn to my minimal belongings I took from Mels house; feeling a pull I rummage through the bag, pulling out the pocket watch I hadn't really paid attention to for the 3 years. The symbols and circles feel familiar yet so foreign at the same time; I slide it into my jean pocket before taking my pocket knife and shoving that into the pocket as well. I leave the room clutching my book to my chest as I stroll through the corridors, following the LED lights on the floor which led the way to the console. As I stroll into the room I see Amy hanging onto the roof of the door way, stars twinkling in the black, purple and bluish galaxy. I stare in awe.

We're in space.

The Doctor prances around the console, rambling on about something as Amy starts to shout out in panic. Chuckling I walk over to him, pressing a hand on his shoulder causing him to spring up into the air and scream. Clutching my stomach I laugh out, tears springing to my eyes as Amy continues to shout, and The Doctor clutches his chest in two different places as he gasps for air. He gently slaps my arm, annoyed I'd caught him by surprise. Gasping I straighten up I wipe my tears before pointing towards the door, Amy still clinging on for dear life. His mouth forms an 'o' before he rushes over dragging her in.

"This is the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland, all of it bolted together and floating in the sky. Starship Uk. It's Britain, but metal." The Doctor explains, indicating towards a large metal ship with skyscrapers and other buildings protruding from the top.  One building with 'YORKSHIRE' in white on the side. The ship is shown on a screen above the console.

"That's amazing." I whisper, standing on the right of The Doctor with my mouth agape. Amy stands on the other side her expression mirroring mine. The Doctor continues to ramble when I take in the sight of Amy, her pajamas draping over her tall form, her dark red shoulder length hair tucked behind her ears. She hasn't changed at all.
"Can we go out and see?" Amy asks, bouncing on the balls of her feet in excitement. The Doctor chuckles before waving a finger at her.
"Course we can but first, there's a thing." is his reply.
"A thing?" I repeat, tilting my head, as my eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"An important thing, in fact, thing one- we are observers only. That's the one rule I've always stuck to in my travels." he says, looking at the monitor before glancing back at us before adding, "I never get involved in the affairs of other peoples or planets." I raise an eyebrow, stifling a snort of amusement. If he doesn't involve himself in others affairs then what the hell happened with Prisoner Zero. His eyes focus on me smirking ever so slightly before turning back to the screen. "That's interesting." he states.
"So we're like a wildlife documentary, yeah? Cause if they see a wounded cub or something, they can't just save it they've got to keep filming and let it die." Amy retorts, trailing off as we all watch a small girl crying before glancing around.
"Well that's morbid." I mutter, analyzing the young girl. I watch as the Doctor sneaks out of the room, me close on his tail. Stepping through the blue doors I let out a small gasp. So many people and colours, lights it's amazing. "She's crying, silently." I state as we approach the girl. The Doctor spins to look at me, smiling with a nod and continuing forward.

As we reach her I place a gentle hand on her right shoulder. The Doctor following before crouching in front of her. As her opens his mouth to ask what's wrong the girl scampers off,  clutching her bag. "Well that went well." I say, watching as the small person weaves her ways through the crowd. Doc sends me a playful glare as he waves for Amy to come out. "Why do you think she was crying." I question, observing our surroundings.
"Don't know exactly but it must be a common occurrence." he answers before walking over to Amy who was unsurprisingly stumbling around in her pyjamas.

Huffing I spin slowly taking in the new surrounding. Stalls all filthy, dirt and dust spread everywhere; lights hanging on the ceiling like bunting. One stall selling a wide range of flags, civilians walk around, some sitting at tables. Although one thing that stands out is that they're all human. I thought that by now we would have at least mixed. Are creepy fucking booths that sticks out, clean compared to everything else. I watch as a group of teenagers walk down the street, the entire group walks around and into the road glancing at the machine/booth thing in anger, sadness but mainly fear. The booths contains a man, a doll almost, it grins staring forwards. Looking like some sort of demon. Shivering I turn around scanning the area for Doc.

He's sat opposite the young girl, Amy on his left. Jogging over I catch part of their conversation.
"- children cry because they want attention, because they're hurt or afraid. When they cry silently,-"
"It's because they can't stop." I cut in sitting down on his right.
"Any parent knows that." he continues. A longing look pasts over his features, sadness filling his eyes. I rest a gentle hand on his forearm, hoping it comforted him in someway. A small smile flashes over his mouth before he turns to Amy.
"Are you a parent?" she questions, staring at his face waiting for some reaction. He blatantly ignores her.
"Hundreds of parents walking past and not one of them's asking her what's wrong. Meaning they already know and it's something they don't talk about." he starts explaining, I zone out watching the little girl as she cries more. My heart pulling at the scene, shaking her head I stand up. I can't watch her cry. Walking over I sit down next to her.
"Are you alright?" I ask slowly. She snaps her head to me.
"Yeah." is her short reply, I raise an eyebrow watching her as she sniffles.
"So you normally just cry then." I retort. She huffs, crossing her arms.
"Why do you care? I don't know you." is all she says.
"Yeah well you looked pretty upset, so I wanted to make sure you weren't hurt. Sorry for trying to be a decent person." I snark, crossing my arms as well. She sends me a weary glance before looking at the lift and bolting. I reach out to grab her knocking her bag at the same time. Her walet falling out. Damn. This is why I don't like kids, try to talk to them and the run. Rolling my eyes annoyed I storm back over to the two who were watching us intently. "What." I snap. Dropping my weight down next to The Doctor. I shove the wallet into Doc's hands he grins before reading the information inside.
"Ask her about those things Amy, the smiling fellows in the booths. They're everywhere." The Doctor orders, placing the wallet in her hands, "She's called Mandy Tanner, you'll find her at Apple Sesame block, Dwelling 54A." Before she protests I glare at her.
"They're clean everything else is dirty or dusty. I witnessed a group of teenagers walk around them into the road whilst glaring at them." I state watching as Doc just nods along.  Sighing she nods before complying.
"Come on Star, lets go look around." he says, grabbing my hand before dragging me around.
"Star?" I say, completely confused.
"Yes. Your name,  Asterin, means 'A Star' in at least three different languages." he says tugging my hand gently so that I was in pace with him rather than being dragged behind.
"Alright Doc." is all I can come up with as a retort. He chuckles before turning down and alleyway. Not creepy at all.
