Jak slowly made his way down the bridge to the mainland, thinking about his adventure that lay ahead of him and Daxter. He never thought that he would get out and see what the rest of the island had to offer him.
Sandover village has always been his home, ever since he could remember. Its where he met Daxter and grew up with the villagers. He swam in the waters and fished on the beach.
Daxter was chittering away about how excited he was going to be when he finally got back to his actual body, but all Jak could think about was all the things they would see and do before this adventure was over. Jak smiled in anticipation, marching along the second bridge, when he spotted something to his right.
The fisherman's wooden boat laid on its side, washed ashore on the beach. It wasn't there earlier when they snuck off with his speed boat, so the fisherman must've taken it out when they were away.
Jak gasped as he saw the huge bite mark that was missing on the side of the boat. Only one thing nasty enough to do something like that... Lurker Sharks.
Lurker Sharks were big orange creatures that only swam in the deeper parts of the sea. Their massive jaws could bite through the toughest metals, and their throats large enough to swallow a person whole. Even less is known about them, about where they came from and how they got to be so big. But they are something no man or beast would ever want to encounter while stranded in the sea. The fisherman goes on and on about the mighty beasts, saying how as soon as you step into the water, they are waiting for you to go off the deep end. They can sense your body heat and track you underwater for miles and miles. That was certainly something that jak never would want to encounter.
"Did you see the size of the bite that lurker shark took out of the fisherman's boat!?" Daxter screeched, high pitched right into Jak's ear. Dax took in a deep breath before continuing, "we best stay way clear of them! I don't think that we could tackle a creature that dang nasty!"
Jak had to agree with Daxter. There was no known way to defeat a lurker shark. In the water was where they were the strongest. The fisherman tried and tried to catch one, to study it and to kill the one that haunts the island. But from the looks of the boat, that dream of his would have to be put on hold.

Jak looked around the little island he would be leaving behind as soon as he had enough power cells to get through the fire cannon. The village was small, only a few houses were actually around. The biggest belonging to the mayor, which couldn't be missed with the windmill upon the top of it. The other houses belonged to the sculptor, the bird lady, Jak's "uncle", and the fisherman. Further ahead near the passageway to the Forbidden Jungle, lay the Farmers hut and his Yak Cows.
Jak heard a slight buzzing sound as he walked by the fisherman's hut. The fisherman's hut was small, smaller than Samos's hut, and he never seemed to be home anyways. He lived on his boat most of the time, and could also be found on a tiny dock over a river in the jungle. Samos would always have to send out his bird to get a message to the fisherman, because you never knew where he was at the time. He hardly talks to anyone and always smelled like ripe fish. Jak walked to the doorway and saw a metal and red crate. It must be a scout fly that Keira wanted them to find for her.
Breaking the box open freed the scout fly and Jak watched as it went into his backpack. "Hey," said Daxter, jumping slightly up and down on Jak's shoulder. " it looks like Scout flies are always in RED boxes!" Jak rolled his eyes towards the sky like a prayer. It really took this long for Dax to notice what the boxes LOOKED like? He asked himself. This is going to be a long trip.
Jak walked back outside and looked around, sighing as he thought ahead. To the west was the jungle. A ton of nasty creatures waited for them in there, and Jak wondered how Daxter was going to react the first time they encountered one of the snakes. They could unhinge their jaws to eat a yak cow. Now that he thought of it, there are a ton of creatures that could do that.
Well, Jak thought, might as well get a move on. Don't want to be in the jungle when the sun sets.

Dax let out a loud groan as they finally made it to the entrance of the jungle, a couple hours later.
"You know, you didn't have to stop for EVERYONE that asked you to! This put a huge dent into us getting the move on so we can get my body back!" Dax grumbled slouching down on Jak's shoulder. "I need to come first. How am i supposed to pick up the ladies in this form!"
Jak ignored him and continued walking. It's not his fault that some of the villagers asked him for help with something. Well, all of them asked for something.
First to stop them was the mayor, a short and stout old man, not nearly as old as Samos, but still old. He had on a purple hat that covered up blue hair, and a long curly mustache that was also blue. He wore a white shirt with a purple vest over it, which was nearly hidden by a giant red bow that draped over his round belly. He said that he had two jobs for Jak, one of which was thankfully in the direction they were going. He needed Jak to reroute the eco beam so that the village could have power again. All he needed was to look for a generator type machine with blue eco coming out of it, and use mirrors to bounce the eco all the way to the windmill. The other job was a request for money to support his campaign for his reelection for mayor, saying that he would give them a power cell in exchange for their help. While they were trying to back away before the mayor could go off on another rant about the village, they heard the distinct buzzing of a scout fly inside one of the rooms of his house.
After they left the mayor, they happened across Jak's uncle. He's not really Jak's uncle, but ever since he could remember, he has referred to himself that way. Even Dax didn't understand it, because Daxter wasn't allowed to call him his uncle, and when he tried, he swung his cane at him! Uncle was a wrinkly old guy that wore a huge eye glass over his right eye and had no hair on the top of his head, but had enough on his face to makeup some weird mustache sideburn combo. He walked with a dark brown wooden cane that Jak knew he didn't actually need, he just liked whacking people with it. He talked about how he was going to be going out an exploring on some sort of trip, but didn't have enough precursor orbs to pay for it. He asked if they had any extra they could give him, although assumed that Dax would have just lost them all, calling him annoying, little and ugly all in one sentence, making Dax mad! In exchange he would give them a powercell, just like the mayor did.
Next was the old bird lady, older than the uncle, still younger than Samos. Her hut was right before the beach near the farmers house. She saw them coming because she was looking out her window with her binoculars, apparently trying to keep an eye on a flutt flutt egg that sat up high on the edge of a cliff in sentinel beach. She needed help getting the egg, which Jak told her that it was no problem for him.
Then after that, the farmer was snoring so loud when they were passing by, that he woke himself up with a snort. Seeing them, he asked for help getting his yak cows back into their pen. And since they were only a couple feet away from the jungle, Jak accepted and had to shove and push each cow back into their pen, earning a power cell in return.
Now here they finally stood, a little out of breath, in front of the jungle with 5 power cells in their possession. Only needed 15 more.
