Jak burst through the warp gate and landed gracefully in front of it. He sent a delighted smile towards Samos, who was floating in front of the window. Samos shook his head, peering down at him.
The warp gate started buzzing behind Jak, with a high pitched scream echoing out of it.
Jak quickly ducked down right as Daxter came flying out, just barely missing the top of Jak's head.
Daxter landed on the ground with a hard thump, a few feet from where Jak was crouched. Jak snickered as Dax whipped his head around to send back a glare.
Samos floated down to the floor, giving Dax a disguested look.
"Good training boys," Samos said with sarcasm tinting his words. "But thats nothing compared to the challenges that lie ahead!"
Daxter popped up and brushed himself off. "Eh, they're no problem!" Daxter said, making dramatic gestures with his arms. "We'd love to stay and chat, big green, but we're, uh, itching to get on with our adventures."
Samos rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Fine. Fine. 'Adventure' away then. And while you're out 'adventuring' why don't you make yourself useful?"
Samos clomped over to the old beige map that was laying on the desk.
"My darn green eco collectors are clogged up again." Samos pointed to the far side of Sentinel Beach. " Head out to the far side of the beach and clear them out, why don't you?" He trailed his finger along path, showing them how to get there. "Follow the lamps, they'll take you right there."
Samos glanced up from the map, sending them a hard look. "Now, all of you... GET OUT OF HERE!"

"Sheesh! He didn't have to tell so loud that his voice shook the whole hut!" Dax muttered to Jak as they made their way down the ramp. "I mean, we were standing right there!"
Jak glanced at Dax perched on his shoulder and shrugged. Jak was pretty used to how much Samos yelled by now, so it didn't bother him as much as it bothered Dax. It was just the way he talked.
Jak reached the bottom of the ramp and looked over the village. The sun was up high in the sky, making the village bright, and some of it shiney.
It wasn't a very large village. Other than Samos's hut, there were only a couple other huts that were scattered about. The mayor's being the largest.
Jak started to make his way into the village when a shadow to the right caught his attention.
Keira was busy working on the zoomer she made, so she didn't see them daxter jump down and strut his way over to her.
"Hey baby!" Daxter said loudly, causing Keira to glance down at him, looking annoyed at the interruption. "What do you say you and I go cruisin on this A-Grav Zoomer?" Dax sent a smile her way, which she returned with a glare.
Keira lifted an eyebrow at him and shook her head. "Rule number 1. I don't date animals."
"Awe, you don't know what you're missing! Heh heh," Daxter chuckled as he pretended to juggle.
Jak rolled his eyes and smacks Dax on the back of the head, lurching him forward a bit. Dax looked at Jak and growled as he rubbed the back of his head.
Keira shook her head. "Listen if you need something to keep you busy, my father always talked about an ancient Precursor pipeline hidden deep underground. Some of these pipes end in vents from which the eco flows freely, and some have been capped off so the eco is sealed back. There must be some way to turn the capped vents on." Keira walked out towards the ledge of the cliff and pointed towards the jungle. "I traced part of the pipeline back to the forbidden temple. Maybe you should look there for some type of switch."
Keira smiled at Jak before turning away from them and going back to her work.

"Well, we got two things to do now, but they are both in different directions. Which one should we do first?" Dax asked as he climbed back onto Jak's shoulder.
Jak glanced at both places, pondering the question. The beach was closer to them, so it would be faster to get Samos's eco collectors done. But then again, he wanted to impress Keira. Maybe finding how to turn the vents on would make her happy.
Jak pointed towards for Forbidden jungle and Daxter sighed.
"A relaxing walk on the beach would've been nice. But no. You had to pick the scary, filled with danger, jungle."
Jak smiled at Daxter and started to make his way towards the village.

Keira watched the two of them walk away, biting her lip in worry as Samos came down and stood next to her.
"They'll be okay, wont they daddy?" Keira asked, glancing towards her father.
Samos smiled and reached for her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Yes, Keira. I believe they will. I think there is much potential in that boy, more than even he sees in himself."
