The energy that Jak felt coursing through his body was unlike anything he ever felt before. Even before, when he picked up the small things of blue eco, it never felt like this.
His body was vibrating and tingling all over. He felt like all of his senses had suddenly come alive and they were all jittery, ready to jump out of his skin. He felt his eyes get sharper and he could track the movement of the tiniest insect, like the monoant, an insect so tiny you had to get a magnifying glass to be able to see it with a naked eye.
Jak glanced down at his hands, and was shocked to see that there was a light blue hue that emanated from his skin while light blue specks floated off of his skin and landed down on the ground.
He glanced down at the pouch to notice that the circle that was on his pouched was filled all the way with the blue light.
"Lets get moving!" Dax said as Jak still continued just standing there, enjoying the feeling the blue eco gave him as it continued to flow through out his body. "You do know that your shoulder is very boney and very uncomfortable." Dax stood up on Jak's shoulder and knocked his fist on the top of Jak's head, hard, trying to get him to snap out of it. "I would like to get going so I cant get out of this tiny orange body! Yeesh!" Dax shouted while Jak just glared at him, rubbing the top of his head.
Jak stepped out of the flow of eco and felt a sudden panic as he felt the eco slowly leaving his body. He glanced down at the pouched and watched the circle slowly losing the color.
"Well what are you doing?!" Dax shouted. "Get moving! we need to get that door open! and fast!"
Jak took off, running as fast as he could, counting on the power of the eco to propel him faster and faster to reach the door before the eco could vanished and leave his body feeling empty. The voice in his head chanted over and over, go faster.
Jak could feel the door before he actually saw it. He felt the blue eco whisper and come alive, wanting to be connected to the door and share with it the power that it had.
Jak stood in front of the door and let out a gasp and eco shot out of his body through his chest and went straight for the blue icon above the door.
The sudden rush of eco leaving his body made him dizzy. He started to sway, everything starting to go black. He dropped to one knee as Dax started freaking out.
"Jak! Jak are you okay?" Dax jumped down from his shoulder and stood in front of him, eyes full of concern. He didn't like seeing his best friend like this, he didn't like seeing him vulnerable. He has always been the strong one, pretty much fearless and Dax relied on him more than he knew, and the only way he would get changed back was if he had him with him. "Jak can you hear me? Come on man snap out of it!" Dax jumped up and down in front of him, watching his eyes focus in and out. "Come on Jak, i cant do this without you."
Jak's vision slowly began to clear up. Watching Dax as he come back into focus, he slowly started to stand up. He closed his eyes and put his hands over his face and groaned silently to himself as his body ached with the sudden loss.
"MAN!" Dax shouted as he landed back on his shoulder. "Don't do that to me again. How am I supposed to get changed back when you go down! Be careful" Dax glared at Jak but Jak ignored him while he studied the door.
The door had opened when Jak and Daxter wasn't paying attention, and sitting on the ledge right behind the door was another Powercell.
"Whoo-hoo" cheered Dax as Jak walked towards it. "Now were talking! soon enough well be able to get the Zoomer all charged up and ready to roll!"
Jak just shook his head and went to reach out for the power cell. Like the last time , the Powercell came together and put all the pieces together by itself. Jak put the Powercell into the pouch as Dax did a little jig on the ground. After Dax climbed back onto his shoulder, Jak continued through the door, listening to the sound of rushing water.
There was a light brown geyser, that reached at least 60 feet in the air, in the middle of the flow of crystal clear water that was a few feet below where Jak and Daxter were standing at. the ground rumbled as the geyser filled up again with water, then shot it straight up into the sky. The rush of water stopped and it fell back down in a mist that shimmered in the sun and reflected rainbows.
The water fell into the crystal clear creek that surrounded the geyser. Jak noticed that there were little wooden planks tied together for someone to walk on. They were bobbing up and down from the vibrations of the geyser with precursor orbs hovering above them.
Jak jumped down and did a cannon ball into the water, causing Dax to fly off of his shoulder. Dax yelled then was cut off when the water went into his mouth as he landed, hard, belly first into it.
Jak came back up just as soon as Dax floated back to the surface sputtering, trying to get all the water out of his mouth along with a tiny silver fish. Jak started laughing as Dax glared at him and was about to give him a piece of his mind when the communicator came out, and Samos's voice cut them off.
"Good work!" Said Samos as the device floated around the two of them. Jak started to swim towards one of the platforms to collect the orbs as Samos continued talking. "The blue eco caused the door to open." Dax rolled his eyes and mouthed obviously to Jak, giggling at his own joke. The device whipped around and faced Dax almost like it knew exactly what he was doing. Dax Snapped his mouth shut as Samos continued with a sigh. "With blue eco, you can breathe energy into all kinds of precursor artifacts that remained dormant for years."
Once it disappeared Dax let out a sigh. "You know, you would think that Samos set this whole island up with some sort of device that allows him to see our every movement with the way that the communicator can tell what I'm doing." Dax shuddered as he climbed onto the land from the water. "Man is that creepy. I don't know about you, but I'm beginning to think that old grandpa green doesn't trust us as much as he should."
Jak rolled his eyes and joined Dax on the land. "Well it is," said Dax still trying to wring all the water from his tail. "come on big guy, we got to get up those pillars there."
More precursor junk is what Dax would've called them. Made out of the same metal as everything else they have encountered, the pillars were in a set of three, varying in height so that it was easier to jump from one to another.
Jak sighed to himself as he made his way towards the first pillar. time to get climbing, he thought.
