The sun was just starting to shine over the top of Samos's hut as Jak and Daxter tried to silently steer the fisherman's boat to the dock. Jak quickly glanced over at Dax, who was staring down at his little orange paws. How Dax managed to keep his gloves and goggles after the whole ordeal baffled Jak, but not nearly enough as what actually happened. Even with him witnessing the entire thing, he still found it hard to believe.

Samos talked about how dangerous Dark Eco could actually be, but Jak and Daxter just laughed behind his back, calling old green stuff a fool. All the time that they could remember, both only being 15 years old now, they never encountered any type of Eco.

They knew all the stories about it and the mystical qualities that they posses, only because Samos pounded it into their heads like their lives depended on it. Which, now that Jak thinks about it, if they just paid a little more attention to Samos's teachings, they would've know what Dark Eco looked like and they could've avoided all of this...

Now they have to face Samos.

Jak looked crept along the side of the house that belonged to the fisherman and peeked inside of the window, making sure that the coast was clear so they didn't get yelled at for taking the boat without permission. He didn't see anything inside the hut so he made a dash to the rickety bridge, leaving the distinct sound of buzzing behind.

Glancing inside houses as he ran past, he heard the Mayor grumbling to himself and pacing around the fire that was always lit. The fountain sat in the middle of the small island that was made out of white rock, carved by the village's very own sculpture. That man rarely left his hut unless it was to get food or to bring in another large boulder to carve.

The bridge to Samos's hut was long and old. The planks were cracked and split along the edges and one day he wouldn't be surprised if it suddenly gave out under his weight. The bridge connected to a large piece of land that sat in the middle of the water. If there was 5 of Jak, they would be able to fit on it.

Jak made his way up to the bridge when he noticed that Dax was not following him, but was standing wide eyed at the front of the fountain. Jak shook his head at him and walked towards him, picking him up and setting him on his shoulder.

"I'm in deep trouble aren't I?" Dax said to Jak softly, a hint of fear in his voice. Jak didn't acknowledge his question because he knew Dax wasn't expecting an answer. Of course they were going to get into a lot of trouble.

Samos's hut is the largest one on the land, next to the mayors. It lay out far into the water, where the water was so deep you could see hundreds of Lurker Sharks swimming along the base of the cliff, waiting for something to fall into the water for them to tear apart. No one besides Jak and Daxter ever approached the hut. Nothing ever happened around there where the villagers needed to ask the Sage for something. So the Sage's people skills were lacking.

Upon walking up to the base of the hut, Jak noticed that Keira, Samos's daughter, wasn't there. Her workspace was just the under part of the hut. There was Precursor metal laying in random spots along the floor and leaned up against the walls. Jak noticed there was a weird machine that was hovering above the same exact metal thing that was near the ferry boat at Misty Island.

With a room in the back that was always closed off, Jak just assumed that's where she stays. Jak and Daxter just lay under the stars most nights on the island that the bridges connected to, watching the sky, unless it rained. Then they would sneak into the hut when Samos was asleep and tried their best to be awake before he was.

Jak started up the steps that led to the doorway to the hut. Dax hopped down off his should and cowered next to the wall besides the door way as Jak peeked inside of the hut.
