Chapter 16. Mepphyland

It was a Monday morning at the cram school, students and teachers alike were busy running around and getting work done. Yukio still hadn't returned to teaching yet but he would come in some days to do paperwork and other small tasks. As the boy walked past his classroom he was met with the students running out excited for the class to be over. "How was class Rin?" Yukio asked as he saw his brother walk out of the room. "As good as the class can be I guess." He mumbles trying not to bad mouth school to a teacher. "What are you doing here Yukio?" "Oh, nothing much I was going to see if Y/N was here and if they needed any help." Rin nods and looks like he was about to say something but was quickly interrupted with an idea.

"Hey Yukio so um, Shiemi and I are going to Mepphyland this afternoon and I was wondering if you wanted to come? You've still been pretty down lately and I thought this might cheer you up." Yukio looked a little surprised but smiled at his brother "wow it's unlike you to care for me, aren't I'm the one who always saves you?" Rin's face turns red in frustration make Yukio's smile widen. "I'm your big brother it's my job to take care of you!" Yukio chuckles as he pushes his glasses up "okay, okay sure. You get to your next class okay? I'm gonna go find Y/N." Rin started to walk away but stopped and turned back to his brother "ask Y/N if they want to come! You two can make it a date!" As run walked off laughing Yukio went in the opposite direction, his face red in embarrassment.

"Excuse me coming through!" You yell as you rush through the halls, carrying stacks of books and paperwork. You were having trouble seeing so it came to no surprise when you ran into someone sending both you and the books flying. "Y/N are you okay?!" As your vision became clear again you saw Yukio standing over you with a worried expression. "Yeah, I'm fine. Come on Yukio, we work as an exorcist. It's our job to kill demons you think a little bump is gonna hurt me?" Yukio smiles as he holds his hand out which you happily take. "Speaking of work." You say as you stand up. "What are you doing here you aren't meant to get back to teaching for another week." You began to pick up everything you dropped and us Yukio joined in he began to spoke.

"Well I came here to see if you needed any help, and good thing I did or you would picking up all these papers by yourself." He hands you what he picked up so you give him a sweet smile in return. "Well thanks for that, but I'm all done here. Just gotta drop these off at Shura's office and then I'm good to go!" You smile in excitement "well that's just perfect cause I have something to ask you, come one let's walk and talk." You nod and begin to Walk with Yukio to Shura's office.

"Okay so, Rin and Shiemi are going to Mepphyland later, and they both invited us. So you wanna go?" Your eyes light up in excitement which makes Yukio's heart start to flutter. "Yes, I would love to! After everything that's been going on this should be a perfect opportunity to just relax right?" Yukio nods in agreement as you walk up to the door leading to the staff Offices. "Okay so I've gotta go get ready but I'll come and get you before we leave okay?" You agree and with that, you both parted ways.

It was a few hours later and Yukio was standing at your door about to see if you were ready to go. He didn't know why, but as he stood there his hand hovering at your door ready to knock, he was excited. Excited to have fun with his brother but also excited to just be spending time with you. He woke up from his daydream to the sound of you speaking "Yukio? Is that you? Come in!" Your voice sounded muffled and rushed as it went through the door but Yukio happily stepped inside.

As he walked into your room he saw you running around struggling to put your jacket on. "Looking for something?" He asked but you only nodded in response "I can't find my- oh there it is!" You smile in excitement as you pick up your left shoe. Yukio laughs seeing you so unorganized. "Why are you so organized for work but your room looks like....this." he points to your bedroom floor. You had to admit it was a mess "I just haven't had time to clean with you being out of work!" You say in defense which only makes Yukio laugh. "Whatever you say, but are you ready to go?"
