After Lani was sewn up, Drista and Techno went to another room alone. To talk more about this antidote.
"So...all I have to do is travel north, and get the blood of an ice dragon? I can do it, I've killed dragons before. Plus you've taught me everything you know."
Technoblade opened a drawer and pulled out a wrinkled map. He handed it to the determined slayer. "here, you'll need this. Although Im confidant in my training abilities, this won't be easy for you." He sat on his desk instead of on his chair. "Ice dragons are endangered, and finding one will be hell. You'll have to travel up the mountains, in freezing temperatures. You're more likely to die from hyperthermia, than find an ice dragon. I know you're stubborn though, so nothing I say will stop you."
"You've got that right...I'll prepare as much as I can! I won't let myself lose this battle, I promise. I'll return home with the dragon blood, with little to no injuries." Drista tried to act headstrong around Technoblade, but she was getting nervous. She knew nothing about this place she had to travel to. She'd probably get lost, and freeze to death.
"I'm more worried about you freezing, not injuries." Techno looked around on his desk, and picked up a gold chain.
"Well I'm not an expert in fighting dragons, I'll get a little beat up." She admitted to a sliver of weakness.
Techno put the chain in her hands. "About that...ice dragons are docile. They don't fight."
Drista looked at the chain, and played with it a little. "Really? I didn't think friendly dragons existed."
"They do, but they won't for long. Years ago ice dragon hunting was common. Now there's nearly none left."
"Why kill them if they aren't aggressive?"
"Their blood has healing powers, they can cure almost anything. The problem is, they can only lose a little blood before they die. It's an oddity about them. A beast that big can die from losing 1 liter of blood."
"Oh..." Drista started to feel awful about going on a hunt for this dragon. Even if she thought it would be selfish, she still planned on hunting this dragon. "What's this for?" She held up the chain.
"Trade it for a horse, you'll need one. Everything else you need will be your responsibility. Actually, hold on." Techno got up and left the room. He came back with a small bottle, and handed it to Drista. "Collect the blood in this."
"Okay...Will I be a horrible person for killing an ice dragon?" Drista wondered.
"Most likely...to some people at least, you're lucky ice guardians are extinct."
"What's an ice guardian?" Drista was learning a lot of new things right now.
"We really don't have time for this lesson now. They used to be a species similar to humans, in some ways. They lived alongside ice dragons. That's all you need to know. Get going, you're wasting time." Techno urged her to begin her quest before it was too late.
"Right, okay!" Drista went back to the couch where Lani was. She looked to be waking up. Drista walked over, not wanting to leave without saying a goodbye.
"Lani?"
Lani turned her head to the sound of Drista's voice. "Hm?"
Drista kneeled beside her. "The spike is out, you're going to be fine."
"Mn...it hurts."
"I know, I've had one removed too. It hurts for a couple days." Drista debated if she should tell Lani where she was about to go. She decided not to worry her friend. "I'm going to go home before my parents worry...I'll see you again really soon."
