Taylor spent the next day pretending last night never happened. Her way of coping up with thoughts filled with consternation.
It was way too soon to jump into this. He was only attracted to the shiny toy she resembled outside, and decided immediately that it was a mistake. He treated her like a challenge, a quest. He didn't like her enough to hang out a second time. He anyway preferred one night stands over steady relationships, why would she be any different? He definitely went back to the British girls he use to amuse. He found her plain, awkward, flashy and not worth his time. Plus, her current reputation was a ginormous pile of mess. After talking to him for a week, if Taylor learnt one solid attribute about Joe, it was that he was a neat freak. He loathed messes. And she had recently broken the record of the best mess in the world.
So it continued. The turmoil of Taylor's inner thoughts. Throughout the bright day; beyond the twilight, till it merged into the blackness of the night. She lay awake and anxious, when her room lit up with the familiar fluorescent light of her phone from the nightstand. A message and a location.
Come here, you can meet me in the back.
