Hermione's p.o.v.
It was over half an hour later before Madam Pomfrey emerged from behind the curtain that surrounded Hermione's bed.
She looked at the group of friends before saying "I've stabilised her, it was touch and go for a minute, it appears that she has been bleeding since about 12 o'clock, so she lost a lot of blood. But with a few blood replenishing potions and enough rest, she will be right as rain. I expect her recovery time will be a week or so, so someone will need to get her cover work for all of her missed lessons. I will only let you see her in two and I presume Mr Weasley will be staying with her otherwise I'm sure he wouldn't be here."
Fred nodded a thanks to Madam Pomfrey and stood up.
" Right, who wants to go first?" He asked.
Harry and Draco went in first, Ginny and Luna quickly followed by Dean and Seamus and Neville and Ron before finally Theo and Blaise went in. No one said anything to the others about what they had said but the two girls came out crying and Fred could have sworn he saw Blaise wipe a tear from his eye before turning away. They all said their goodbyes and left back to their own dorms, leaving Fred alone with Hermione.
"Hey my beautiful Mia." He said as he sat down on a chair next to her. He looked at her pale face and at her bandaged arm and sighed.
"How are we going to fix this, I promise you that I will help find a way to end your suffering, for there is always a counter curse, you just have to look for it." He sighed again and leant over and gave her a gentle peck on the lips.
He sat there all night watching his ghost of a girlfriend, before sleep overcame him and he drifted off into a deep sleep.
The next morning Hermione woke up, groggy and confused, the last thing she remembered was crying in Harry's arms about what Ron had said, but she knew this wasn't her room, it smelt like the hospital wing. She let her eyes focus on the ceiling above her and she realised that she was in fact in the hospital wing. That's when things from the previous day slowly started coming back to her. She gasped slightly and looked down at her freshly bandaged arm. Then a wisp of red hair caught her attention. She sat up slightly, and found Fred asleep on a chair next to her.
She thought to herself, she must have been in a pretty bad condition for them to get Fred in.
She blinked a couple more times, her eyes were still adjusting to the light, when Madam Pomfrey walked in.
"Good morning Miss Granger, welcome back to the world of the living, we were all worried there for a minute, you were in such an awful condition when they brought you to me, must have been almost as many people as in a quidditch team here yesterday waiting for an update on your stability." She said as she handed Hermione a few potions to take.
Hermione reluctantly downed all three of them. She looked over at the still sleeping Fred and smiled slightly.
"I'll leave you two alone, he was up with you pretty much all night, didn't want to fall asleep in case you needed anything." Madam Pomfrey said with a warm smile, she had a soft spot for the Weasley twins, having seen them every week after the Gryffindor quidditch match, one of them was bound to get hurt and they would both come down and brighten her day for a few hours.
Hermione nodded before gently shaking her boyfriend awake.
"Hmmmm five more minutes pleeeease." Fred said as he yawned.
Hermione gave a little giggle, which made Fred snap to attention, fully aware of who that laugh belonged to.
"Mia" he breathed before engulfing her into a deep hug.
