Harry's p.o.v.

Ron had made up another odd excuse not to go to hang out with him, Seamus, Dean and Neville. They were going to go down to Hogsmeade since it was the weekend. This was the third time that week that he'd blown off plans they'd made and Harry was starting to get suspicious.

"Have you noticed anything off with Ron?" He asked Ginny, they had both become really close friends after they'd broken up.

"Actually now you mention it he did bail on me to go meet Bill in Hogsmeade last week, we were just going to catch up since we haven't seen him properly since Christmas and we're now in the middle of March." She noted.

"Huh."

"Why?" Ginny asked.

"Because he just cancelled on plans the guys had because he said and I quote he 'had homework to do' the most un Ron thing ever."

"That is odd. Even when he does have homework he is never bothered to do it. Have you asked Hermione? She might have some idea of what's going on with him." Ginny suggested.

"Yeah, okay, I'll go and talk to her now."

With that Harry left the common room and headed towards the Head Dorms. When he reached the portrait, he smiled.

"Hi Mum." he greeted her.

"Hello Harry, how are you getting on with your studies?" Lily asked.

"Good, I'm really enjoying defence against the dark arts now there's no one trying to kill me." he joked.

She chuckled and shook her head in response, then looked at him with sad eyes.

"Hey, it's alright, I'm okay. I promise Mum."

She sighed, "I know you are now, I just wish I was there to protect you while you were growing up."

He smiled up at her.

"It wasn't so bad." He tried to ease her mind.

Before she could respond, James and Sirius popped back into the portrait.

"Alright Pup?" Sirius asked with a grin.

"Yeah I'm good Sirius, I'm looking for Hermione, you seen her?" He asked.

"We sure have." James told him.

"She's on her way back from the Library of course." Sirius said.

"Can you let me in so I can wait, got an important question to ask her?"

"If you came to confess your undying love I'm afraid she's taken." Sirius joked.

Harry shook his head, grinned and added, "And she's my sister, so that'd be very weird."

They let Harry in and vacated the portrait, leaving Lily to her book.

Harry walked into the common room to find Draco asleep on the sofa, homework scattered everywhere. He laughed to himself before going over to the sleeping man and shaking him awake, despite really wanting to scare the crap out of him.

"Huh, what, who, huh." Draco mumbled as he was pulled from his slumber, slightly confused about what was going on.

"Harry, what are you doing here?" He asked curiously.

"Came to ask Hermione a question but apparently she's on her way back from the Library. So I'm waiting." Harry told Draco.

Draco rubbed his eyes.

Harry thought how cute he looked having just woken up and smiled at him. Draco's hair was scruffy and all Harry could think about running his hand through it. And that's exactly what he did. Draco stared straight into his eyes, Harry noted they were darker than usual more like a storm cloud grey than a silvery grey. Draco's eyes flicked from Harry's, to his lips and back. Their lips met softly, Harry's hand stayed in Draco's hair. Draco ran his hand from Harry's face down his side and wrapped his arm around Harry's waist, bringing them closer together.
