It has been four months since it was announced that there was some volcanic activity. The volcanologists from Trinidad has set up equipment on the La Soufriere (meaning Sulfur Air) to monitor its activity. They are calling it an effusive eruption. Basically, this means that some material is oozing to the surface. They say that these kind of eruptions are safe and there is nothing to worry about. Either way, it's better to be safe than sorry.

My family has had bags packed since we heard of the activity. We have suitcases filled with semi-reasonable clothing and a crate packed with tin stuff and crackers. We don't believe anything much will happen though, but just in case. We already had discussions about what we will do in the event that it does decide to erupt. We will take our pets with us, to where we are evacuating. Our dogs Pecan, Tiki, and our cat, Cheesecake is part of our family. No family left behind! We already discussed two possible places to take shelter. One, Cedars, at the Assemblies of Yahweh worship place and two, further down to the Diamonds Technical Institute, a facility in which students are trained in hospitality. The college that my father works at was kind enough to offer for us to stay there.

Today, my family had some heightened anxiety, because there were reports of increased activity. My sister and I were sitting doing online school work when we felt some tremors. Several, actually. This made us very concerned. To relieve my anxiety, I brushed up on my packing. I added a few more pieces of clothing, necessary documents and my bible. Can't forget my bible. Yahweh has been good to my family. But we didn't take it on too much and went about our day, as usual, our senses on high alert.

Keeping our ears open... we shall see what happens.
