"Mehn your family has quite a dark history" Alex kept shaking his head in disbelief as they drove back to the island.
"You don't even want to know" Emeka sighed.
"How has your family been able to stay out of the radar for so long?"
"Well we were taught about our family history as kids so we always knew what was at stake if we slipped up. Instead of keeping the Vancouver family name, we took our father's name so we could live out our lives quietly"
"So Federico?" Alex asked... "Is he still in contact with your grandfather?"
"I don't really know. But as far as I know, he owes a lot including his life to my grandfather. I'm pretty sure he'd do everything to protect my grandfather"
"But now that his son has assumed control of the business, don't you think that is going to change?"
"I really do hope it doesn't" Emeka needed all the help he could get, but contacting the federicos was a bit too early.
Alex sighed... And relaxed into his seat. "So what are you going to do now?"
"I don't know man." Emeka replied.
They drove in silence for a while until Alex' phone rang..
"Oh look! Its the crazy girlfriend"
"Wait put it on speaker" Emeka pleaded with glee.
"Aisosa honey" his attempt to start a delightful conversation was met with disdain.
"Don't you dare honey me!" Aisosa retorted from her end... "Alex where are you? So I nor reach you fuck abi?? Alex!!"
"Aisosa calm down, I'll be home soon. I had an emergency"
"Na every day you dey get emergency Alex. Na only you be the business man wey dey Lagos?? Na so you go dey waka dey fuck every toto wey dey available. Alex you be ashawo? I nor reach you fuck Alex?? You know what? I'm calling your mom right now. I'm going to tell her I'm fed up of your lying cheating ass!" Alex tried to protest but not before the line went dead.
"That was intense" Emeka giggled
"Could you just let me be ashamed in peace" Alex couldn't help giggling, Emeka's laughter was contagious.
"How you keep up with someone like that beats me guy"
"Anything to keep my mom happy jare. Mumsy thinks she'd make the perfect wife"
"That is a heart attack waiting to happen if you ask me" Emeka replied.
"But on the bright side, she is magnificent in bed guy!" Emeka turned to look at him, rather amused. "If sex was a sport, she would be the cristiano of it man! This girl scores with her head, legs, hands... She is a beast. You should try her out sometime"
"What the fuck man???" Emeka sometimes wondered how he became friends with this lunatic.
"Just kidding!!!!" Alex chuckled away
"Oya lie to me that you've never fancied her before"
"Well she has the body to match.. I'm not gonna lie__"
"Oh snap..." Alex interrupted him mid sentence... "Its my mother, Aisosa probably called her for real"
"Put it on speaker" Emeka whispered as he picked up the call.
"Hello mom"
"Alex what is the matter with you?" His mother started, much to Emeka's entertainment. He needed something to at least distract him from the plethora of thoughts bombarding his mind... "Aisosa is telling me that you're keeping late nights, is that how you want to treat your future wife?"
"Mom, I haven't been keeping late nights." Alex responded rather disgruntledly. "I have just had a lot to deal with at work this past week that's all"
"For crying out loud Alex, you're not an employee in that company, you own it! Find somebody to ease some of the work for you and go home to your wife!"
