Emeka and jabal watched bimbo as she walked back into her house. "I like her master" jabal said... "Now I see why"

"I'm glad you see it now jabs. I'm glad" Emeka patted his shoulder softly before getting into the car.

Bimbo walked into the living room, her face beaming with excitement. This was definitely the best blind date of her life- not so blind at the end though. And although she was still a bit skeptical about her unexpected romance with Emeka, she would let her mind fly- at least for now.

"I take it your date went well" Mrs jumoke asked, sitting on a one armed sofa, her hands tucked in underneath her bosom.

"Mom! That's borderline creepy!"

"Grammar.... Answer my question oh jare"

"It was great mom but...."

"No buts please" mrs jumoke cut her off before she could finish... "Do you like him?"

"I think so"

"Then tell him I want to meet him"

"Mom isn't that too soon?"

"Wo! There's is no time to waste time my daughter. Abi you think you're getting any younger?"

"Here we go again" bimbo rolled her eyes, walked to the sofa and sat beside her. She wrapped her right arm around her and asked "Do you want him to think we're desperate?

"No but...."

"Aah  aah.. No buts" bimbo waved her index finger, cutting her off before she could finish. "So I'm going to take my time until I'm sure we both want the same things, then I'll introduce him to you. comprenez vous?

Jumoke turned swiftly to look at bimbo.." Don't bring French into this"

"Oh come on mom just say it" she shook her playfully..

"OK.. Je comprends" she said with a child-like reluctance.

"Now that we're on the same page mom, I'm going to bed" with that she kissed her on the cheek and stood up to leave.

"This time you're taking, it shouldn't be too long oo. I don't want to take matters into my own hands" jumoke said as she walked away to her room.

"Goodnight mom" bimbo replied as she closed her door.

"Can you open your bibles to the book of Galatians...... Chapter 2". Sunday mornings were always a delight for bimbo. Her mother had always made sure to raise her in the "way of the lord". She used to be in the choir once, that was before she left for the UK. Bimbo loved absolutely everything about church; from the way the choir radiated of hope in their singing robes to the astute interpretation of scriptures given by pastor ken, the resident pastor of Grace chapel. The church was her safe haven and for every time she never seemed to understand what life threw at her- those times when she was sunk in an abyss of deep loneliness, the overwhelming peace she felt whenever she was seated in church gave her strength to fight on. But what bimbo loved most about Sundays was dressing up." Don't you think you put in too much effort in your dressing to church?" her Mom asked her one Sunday. "Can't somebody look good again?" Was her reply.
"For I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live. Yet not I but Christ who lives in me........" Pastor ken was reading from verse 20 of Galatians chapter two but bimbo wasn't listening. She was caught up in a reverie and Emeka was the star of the show. She couldn't still believe what had happened two nights ago; Emeka professing his love for her with such tenderness under the clear night sky, stars twinkling in the beauty of their majesty, the ocean whispering lullabies of peace and tranquility- it was just like a movie. "But does this one have a happy ending" she wondered. She could still remember the heartwarming text she woke up to on Saturday morning. She probably read it a thousand times because she could still remember every word of It.
