-Shelby pov-
Sectionals are finally here. McKinley is hosting and I'm so not ready. We were supposed to be in Indiana but there was a mold problem. I stupidly said we were prepared for them.

I had to get everything ready last minute with Judy. Thankfully it all looks amazing. I am just very tired right now though. Another plus is we are able to sing and then get off stage.

The club looks so ready to win. They all are so talented. I do notice Kitty and Marley are closer. I hope it is for good reasons that they are.

"Alright!" Holly walks over with a smile "It seems everything is about to start!"

"Great" I look at the club as everyone's eyes move to me "We are a great group alright? I believe that you all can get the win no problem! But I want you all to have fun as well..if you lose, you lose"

"Just try your best" The lights flicker and Judy opens the door "Go one and show them what you all got!"

"LETS GO MCKINLEY!" Blaine leads them out the door "WE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS AND HEAD INTO REGIONALS A WINNER!"

They all cheer as they follow after him. I smile and pull Holly into me. We follow them backstage and I see our soloist is already out there. Here starts the newest journey.

She starts to step out but then steps back. Everyone seems confused. I glare at Kitty who throws up her hands and seems innocent. I quickly make my way to her.

"I-I can't do this" Marley is close to tears "I'm not good enough to be the solo!"

"No you aren't good enough" She frowns and I cup her face "You are better than good! You have a future in singing Marley! The start of that journey starts tonight!"

"Do you really think so?" I nod and she smiles "The only person who's believed in me is my mom"

"You have a whole family with you two now" I let her go and point to the stage "Now go out there and sing your heart out"

She nods and the music starts. She takes a deep breath and walks out determined. I hope my words get her through this night. Because we really need her.

I don't think we can win without her singing for us.

-Marley singing-
You wait, little girl, on an empty stage
For fate to turn the light on
Your life, little girl, is an empty page
That men will want to write on

To write on

You are sixteen going on seventeen
Baby, itÂ's time to think
Better beware, be canny and careful
Baby, youÂ're on the brink

You are sixteen going on seventeen
Fellows will fall in line
Eager young lads and rogues and cads
Will offer you food and wine

Totally unprepared are you
To face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared are you
Of things beyond your ken

You need someone older and wiser
Telling you what to do
I am seventeen going on eighteen
IÂ'll take care of you

I am sixteen going on seventeen
I know that IÂ'm naive
Fellows I meet may tell me IÂ'm sweet
And willingly I believe

I am sixteen going on seventeen
Innocent as a rose
Bachelor dandies, drinkers of brandies
What do I know of those

Totally unprepared am I
To face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared am I
Of things beyond my ken

I need someone older and wiser
Telling me what to do
You are seventeen going on eighteen
IÂ'll depend on you
