Chapter 34

-Alice pov-
It has been 4 days since Ann came to the hospital. She has not stayed awake for long. She will wake up then fall back asleep. She seems to be very tired.

I do not get how no one is mad that I am here. I feel so guilty being here right now. I put Ann in the hospital. I am the reason that this happened to her.

I hate the looks of pity I keep getting. I do not deserved anyone's pity about this! I gave her a heart attack and a seizure! I could have killed this woman!

I just felt so attacked that they were not talking to us. They knew we were slipping without us knowing that we were. Instead of them trying they pushed us farther. I had a right to be angry about that.

But I could have cost Maribel her mom, Alma and Jane a friend, and Santana her grandma. I was so fueled with anger that I snapped. Now...now she wakes and sleeps.

I feel like I should just leave. Maybe that would be better for everyone. I caused this pain and it could have been avoided. I really should just go.

"Gloria Estefan?" Maribel nods "I get the songs meaning but why?"

"Because she still loves you" Maribels smiles "They all do"

"They really should not" I sigh and look at Ann "She could be awake and fine if it was not for me being like I am Mari"

"My mom is not all that innocent either" I look at Maribel confused "I know the whole story from both sides"

"No one deserves this though!" I look at Ann and shake my head "She could have died! I could have killed the woman I love! I could have killed the woman they love! I could have killed your mom! How is this ok?!"

Theres silence then a hand is on my shoulder "It is not ok" I look up and see tears in Maribels eyes "But it will be"

She lets go of my shoulder and walks out of the room. I look back at Ann as the silence kicks back in. She looks so at peace right now. I slowly reach and grab her right hand.

"I love you Ann" I sniffle wait the tears fall "I love you so much...I can not imagine my life with out you..so you need to wake up and stay awake ok? If not for me then do it for them! For Maribel, Santana, the babies, Alma, do it for Jane! Just please...please open those beautiful eyes of yours and wake up"

I sit there for a few minutes and she doesn't move. I sigh and start crying. I can not lose her again. I have spent too long without them in my life.

"You have always had a wonderful voice" I look and see Ann smiling "Can I get some water?"

"Of course!" I look for her cup and finally find it "Here!"

"Thank you" she opens her eyes and drinks it "laying down and drinking feels weird"

"Let me help you up" I work on it and get her sitting up straight "You better? I can go get a doctor! I should go get a doctor!"

"I want you to sit here and talk with me" She gives me a small smile "It would be great to catch up before everyone gets here inevitably"

I nod and sigh "I am so sorry for getting you put in here" I look at her hands as they take mine "I just realized that...I was losing my friends and two of the women I love...I got scared and upset"

"I understand that" I look up and meet her eye contact "I love you so much Alice! We were just getting scared of things and we..we didn't wanna talk and then lose you two"

"Talking could have prevented all of this though" Jane walks in with Alma and to us "We want to see if we can have kids still"

"What?" I do not think I just heard Jane right "Can you say that again?"

"Jane and I wanted to see if we could still have kids" I look at Alma who is just smiling "It is what started us getting scared of talking"

"We were not sure how you two would react to it" I look at Ann who has a shy smile on her face "Would you be opposed to this?"

"I am not opposed" There is frowns on faces "Just do not want you all to get your hopes up ok? We are older and there are a lot of things that could happen"

"We know the risks" Jane smiles brightly "But we think it would be worth it"

I look at Alma who nods and sigh "Alright" I look at Ann and smile "We can all get tested to see if we can have babies ok?"

They clap and everything feels right again. Hopefully this is the start to getting things back to normal. But I can only hope that it is.
