From My Enemy To The Love Of My Life (Pizzie)

A/N: Not my usual posie or hizzie , but I had to write this couple as I feel like they would be an interesting one.

Penelope and Lizzie's journey from enemies to friends to lovers and some soft morning fluff. No Powers High School/College AU.

Penelope Park and Lizzie Saltzman are the last people you would expect to end up together. When they first met at school during their sophomore year at Mystic Falls High, they instantly hated each other. Lizzie's twin sister, Josie, took a liking to Penelope and the pair ended up becoming best friends and even dating for a while before breaking up later on that same year. They still remained best friends, however, so Penelope and Lizzie were forced to try to get along for Josie's sake.

Then, Josie began dating Jade at the start of junior year. She started to spend more time with Jade, and would often miss planned hangouts. This forced Lizzie and Penelope to spend time just the two of them. At first, they would fight without Josie there to keep the peace, but eventually they became friends. They began making plans to hang out on their own, and their feelings of friendship quickly grew into strong romantic ones by the time they reached their senior year after many afternoons spent just the two of them.

Josie helped Penelope pluck up the courage to ask Lizzie out, and Lizzie, of course, said yes. The raven haired girl took Lizzie to the nearby lake for a quiet, evening picnic. She made sure to bring all of Lizzie's favorite foods, even getting Josie and Jade to help. Penelope wore a a white button down and some tight fitting black jeans with a leather jacket. The blonde, on the other hand, wore a yellow sundress with tiny white polkadots. They spent most of the date laying on the picnic blanket in each other's arms, just talking and laughing. When Penelope dropped Lizzie off at her house later on, she kissed her goodnight, and the moment their lips touched, both girls knew they were goners.

They relationship only grew from there. Lizzie was so nervous to tell Penelope that she is bipolar, but when she did during a sleep over at the raven haired girl's house, Penelope just kissed her and told her it didn't change anything. Penelope told Lizzie that her parents are never home and it hurts her more than it lets on in return. Lizzie just hugged her and held her all night long. The raven haired girl told Lizzie that she was in love with her only a few weeks later, and of course, the blonde felt the same way.

Lizzie's parents, Alaric and Caroline, love Penelope and think she is perfect for Lizzie. They think of the raven haired witch as one of their own and treat her as such. The girl secretly can't get enough of this, as her own parents don't give her the time of day very often. Lizzie loves how much her family loves Penelope and how they have taken her in as if she was their own flesh and blood. The blonde's parents are one of their biggest shippers, second only to Josie and Jade themselves, that is.

Now, two years after they first got together, they are sophomores at the same college and are still as in love as ever. It's about 10 o'clock in the morning. Penelope spent the night with Lizzie, who shares a room with Josie. Josie spent the night with Jade in Jade's room. The sun is streaming through the blinds, causing Penelope to wake up. She rolls over and smiles as she takes in the blonde, who is wearing only some panties and one of Penelope's oversized hoodies with the college's logo on the front of it.

"Lizzie, darling. Wake up," Penelope whispers, brushing blonde locks out of her girlfriend's face.

"No. Want to cuddle," Lizzie groans.

Penelope chuckles as the blonde hides her face in her chest. The raven haired girl wraps her arms around her girlfriend, kissing her head. Lizzie smiles sleepily, enjoying being wrapped in her lover's arms. Being in Penelope's arms always makes her feel so safe and warm.

"Well, we already missed breakfast, so I guess we can just stay in bed until lunch," Penelope says. 

Lizzie smiles at Penelope. The raven haired girl smiles back, and leans down to kiss Lizzie's lips gently. She gazes at the blonde, her hazel eyes filled with nothing but love for the girl in her arms. Penelope knows that she is going to spend the rest of her life loving Lizzie Saltzman, and she wouldn't change it for the world.
