❝ what's wrong with john hughes? he's a cinematic legend, hermione ! ❞

"HAD A GOOD CHRISTMAS?" clover asked maeve as they stood in the corner of the room of requirement, waiting for the next dumbledore's army meeting to begin.
"oh, um..." maeve nodded, memories from grimmauld place flooding her mind. "not bad."
"mine was pretty quiet." she shrugged. "although, i did get a letter from your best friend, hermione."
the blonde furrowed her eyebrows. "what— uh, you did? a-about what?"
"uh, yeah, it's not that important. . . she was just asking me about how my holidays were going, you know?" clover nodded. "which reminds me — there'a another hogsmeade trip next month, for valentine's day. i don't know if you saw the notice?"
"mhm, yeah, i did." maeve nodded, briefly glancing at hermione, who was at the other end of the room, chatting with harry and ron.
"and i was wondering if you wanted to go to hogsmeade with me on valentine's day, then?"
she didn't want to say no. but she also didn't want to say yes. ever since hermione had kissed her on christmas afternoon, she couldn't stop thinking about her— well, at least more than usual. and unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, the muggle-born seemed to be avoiding her.
maeve liked clover. sure she did. she was a good friend, and she was gorgeous. she was smart, and kind, and sweet.
maeve also liked hermione. but everytime she tried to think about what she liked about her, she couldn't form a normal sentence. not because it was hard to think of anything, but because there were so many things she liked.
so many things, that she thought she might need a binder to hold the many, many sheets of parchment she could use to write down all the things she liked about hermione. no, make that two binders. or three.
she was completely and utterly devoted to her, and she always had been. so she had no idea why she didn't shut her stupid mouth on christmas, and just let hermione kiss her.
it was probably one of the best feelings in the world— hermione's lips against hers. it was like a taste of heaven— and way better than she had remembered. she wanted to kiss her again, and that's all she thought about.
