I stared at her blankly. "Wait, so your name is... Catie Shift?" I asked. She nodded.
"Yes, that's my name." She replied. I started to think. That name is really familiar.
"Your name... Where have I heard it from?" I asked.
"I don't wanna ta-"
"The news. The news, that's it. Catie Shift. Your parents." I gasped. "Your parents are-"
"Died! Yes they are! They were murdered! Both of them!" Catie yelled. She walked over to the wall and sat down. I walked up to her slowly and sat down next to her.
"Murdered. I barely got time to talk to them. I was only six years old when they died. Matt was four. We had to go to adoption houses and got adopted. I told Matt whatever his new parents told him..." She paused.
"Don't change your last name. And now I know that he didn't." She looked at me. "I haven't see Matt is...." She paused again.
"Eighteen years." I answered for her. She nodded, then sighed. I looked at her and grabbed her hand. "Come on." I said. She shot me a confused look.
"What?" She asked.
"Let's go see your brother." She sniffed a little bit and wiped her tears.
"Really?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.
"Come on, if I haven't seen my brother in eighteen years, I would want to go see him." I said. She giggled a little. I got up from the ground and held out my hand. She looked at my hand, then back at me. "Come on." I said. She smiled and grabbed my hand.
I lifted her up from the ground. I let go of her hand and fixed her hair. Her cheeks were rosey and her blue eyes were watery. I smiled.
"Come on, let's go see Matt."
