We sat there for who knows how long before someone came looking for me.
“Adalynn!” I heard Steve and Thor calling for me. Their voices grew more panicked the closer they got to where I was. They knew where I was so I didn’t know why they were still yelling. If I didn’t answer before I wasn’t going to answer now.
“You had better leave.” Uncle Bruce rise and helped me get up. “With the way I have been acting lately. They are not going to be happy to see you in here with me.” He ushered me towards to door. When I got there I turned and grabbed his hand, pulling him out with me.
“You’re coming with me. Everything is ok now.” I told him. It was then that Fury emerged from the shadows. My Uncle tensed up until he saw the blanket that Fury draped over his shoulders.
Steve and Thor burst through the doors and stopped in their tracks. They stared at the three of us in shock. I looked at them till I could stand it no longer.
“Didn’t your momma ever teach you that it’s rude to stare?” I asked them, raising one eyebrow at them.
Wrapping my arm around my Uncle, we headed towards the doors. I was stopped by Fury’s voice.
“Adalynn aren’t you forgetting something?” He asked. His deep voice still sent chills down my spine. I’m sorry but the guy creeped me out thoroughly.
I turned and looked at the two agents that were still sleeping.
          Wake Up
They woke up and looked around in confusion. I sighed and turned to Fury.
“I have never done that before now. So I don’t know what the side effects are going to be for them. You might want to have them checked out.”
Fury’s eyebrows furrowed. “You have never used your powers before?”
                   I shifted uncomfortably.
“Um… No. Not on purpose anyways.” I said. “When I lost my temper that was some of it. I didn’t stay mad and that’s why there wasn’t more damage before.”
“It can’t possibly be worse than me.” My Uncle stepped forward. I avoided his eyes.
“Um… Actually it could be worse than you. If I let it all lose and lost my temper beyond reason. I could level New York in an hour give or take a few minutes.”
Thor stepped forward and looked me in the eyes.
“You are just a maiden. You couldn’t possibly be that dangerous.” He said confidently. The laughter sparkling in his eyes died down when he saw my serious look.
“When I was two, I leveled the entire top story of the orphanage with one temper tantrum. After a few smaller incidents I realized it was me causing it. There was something wrong when my skinny first grade body shattered the fifth grade bully’s arm with one blow.” I looked at the faces surrounding me. Fury looked like he normally did, creepy. My Uncle looked sad and understanding. Steve and Thor were just shocked.
I continued. “I started meditating and keeping a journal. I never could get the journal writing down. I’m just not great with words. So I taught myself other things. I started with gymnastics. I went to self-defense. I learned dancing. I can dance to any kind of music. I even know ballet. I know how to play the piano, the violin, and the guitar. Before ten months ago I kept my temper in check for years without incident. I have never tried to do it on purpose.”
I shrugged helplessly. “It’s kind of like school. I know what I need to know when I need to know it. Not before.”
“We will do testing to see what you are capable of doing.” Fury stepped towards the doors opposite us. “For now you had better get your uncle to his room to rest and to your room to rest as well.” He turned and quirked an eye brow at me. “You have been up all night.”
With that he walked out. Steve stepped forward and took my Uncle’s arm over his shoulders and helped him out of the room. I was left standing there with Thor.
“I hope you don’t think less of me. I just wanted to be normal for a little while. I didn’t want to hurt anyone.” Thor’s eyes looked tortured as he came forward and wrapped me in his arms, hugging me tightly.
“There is nothing to forgive. I understand.” He whispered in my ear. I relaxed and took a deep breath. He even smelled nice. I smiled sleepily then yawned realizing how tired I was.
Thor must have realized it to, because a second later my feet left the ground as he lifted me effortlessly and began to carry me to my room.
