Trying to avoid sadness, is trying to avoid life

"Thank you," Drew says to the waiter as she places our drinks and food on the table.
"How can you have a hot chocolate on such a nice day?" I laugh, adjusting the shades on face which blocked the overwhelming sun.
"Hot chocolate is for any weather," he says matter of factly before taking a sip. Its too hot to even even bother arguing with him on this.

Drew and I had already been out for our run this morning, JD skived since it was so warm. We'd quickly showered at home before going out to this small cafe for brunch. We have been given a couple days off which is nice and we're planning to go out on a night out with the others tonight.

"Wait so you've never been to school, ever?" Drew says with a shocked face after hearing I've been homeschooled my whole life. When I was adopted they didn't want to put me straight to school since my English wasn't great and at that age kids aren't very understanding. Plus we were always between living in Edinburgh and London for my dads job so it just became easier being homeschooled. Also when I started acting and modelling it meant I could just schedule school around it.

I laugh along as Drew tells me stories of him at school and all the mischief he got up to in the younger years. My stomach hurt from laughing as he told me about the time he locked him teacher in a cupboard accidentally. All of sudden my face frowns as I see a message with pictures Jaden has sent me.
"You okay?" Drew wonders as he notices my change in mood.
"Erm yeah, just these photos Jaden sent me," I frown.

"Jaden?"
"Jaden Smith, he's like my best friend," I answer.
"Oh shit yeah Will Smith's son," Drew nods. "What did he send you?"
I turn my phone round to show him.
