Expectations break hearts.

It was the day before my birthday and Pete's flight was due in late this afternoon. I'd decided to go home last night instead of staying at Drew's as planned since I felt we needed a little, distance. Besides I missed my place.
Sometimes I regret moving out to New York so I could see Pete more. He never asked me to and it's not like I told him he was the reason but he'd have to be oblivious if he didn't know.

I mean I prefer the general people in New York and it has got something special about it however, I love my house in LA more and most of my friends live here too. I'm hoping now that the SNL season is over Pete will move out here for a while.

Good morning Pete x

I smile as I send the message and photo to Pete. I'm hoping once he's here he'll be able to just relax and have fun for a while. He hasn't mentioned it but I can tell the travelling and pressures of us being public; as well as dealing with how broken I am over Cameron, has taken on a toll him.

After a couple hours of business meetings and calls I was mulling over the replies of who could or couldn't come to my party to pass the time. Everyone's invitations had been on hand written letters by me because I felt it made it more of an event and added some class. Besides I love to write.
Austin and Rudy were very upset when they realised the cast were the only ones without handwritten invitations; but as I explained there was no point since I could just walk downstairs and ask if they could go or not.

I was sort of nervous for my party as it planned nearly all by me. A party planner had been hired but I got so paranoid about I ended up doing most of it myself. I'm just nervous people won't have fun.

While my brain is busy overthinking everything, an email pops up on my computer making my heart momentarily stop. I received the email. Like the email. Something that could be potentially huge for my career. Confirmation that I got a role, in what I think will be a huge movie.

For hours I'd been dying to tell Pete the news, so was extremely relieved when opening the front door to him.
"The traffic was a bitc-"
I cut off Pete's sentence jumping into his arms and wrapping my legs round his waist.
"I have the best news Petey!" I giggle excitedly as he spins me round. A little confused by my welcome.

"Hello to you too gorgeous," he smiles before kissing me.
"No but seriously Pete," I say as he lets me down. "I have something to tell you."
"You've got me nervous now Summers," he half laughs as go into the house.
"I got the role of Naomi in 'the Wolf of Walk street' which will be directed by Martian Scorsese and I'll be acting with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill!" I say so quickly I wasn't even sure it came out as English.

"Fucking hell!" Pete gapes. "Fuck I'm so proud of you baby, you deserve this."
"I'm so excited, and scared, but mostly excited," I babble.

For the next hour they celebrated and called her parents telling them the news. Pete was a little on edge however, as he had her burst bday present coming that afternoon. And it wasn't something he could just sneak into the house.
"Cami."
"Yeah," she calls through from the kitchen as she was busy putting the empty bowls in the dishwasher.
"Do you fancy leaving the house for an hour?"

She smiles walking through to the front room. "Why would I want to do that?"
"Well," he says dragging out the word. "It would be really really helpful to me," he speaks with a boyish grin.
"Is there a reason or is it just so you can take your other girlfriends here," she jokes.
"You know an hour wouldn't be long enough for that," he teases.
"Ugh fine Petey but I'm giving you an hour."

An hour left and Pete had his surprise all ready. He was nervous to say the least. This was his dream girl and he didn't want to mess up her 21st before it had even started.
He quickly ran out into the driveway as she walked towards the house.
"What are you doing?" She laughs as he runs behind and quickly ties a blind fold around her.
"Just trust me."

He guides her into the house and to the second living room.
"Okay you can take off the blind fold," he breathes nervously after he'd positioned her facing it.
She tentatively pulled it over her head and opened her eyes.

Right in front of her stood a white grand piano. On top of it a photograph. Which kept in it a picture of 4 year old Camila and her birth parents in a restaurant. Sat next to a piano that looked just like the one in front of her.
It had been the last and only restaurant she'd gone to with her parents before they died. They were poor but her parents had saved up to take Cami for her 4th birthday out to this small restaurant 20 minutes from their house. Which had a beautiful white piano by the window that she always pointed to as they walked by.

"I couldn't get one exactly the same but I contacted the people there to find out the make and tried to get one as close as possible," Pete rambled. Predicting she didn't like it due to her silence.
"Pete." She says hugging his side. "It's perfect. Absolutely perfect. I can't believe you've done this," she saying looking at him with her eyes full of love. "I'm just so overwhelmed, I love you so much. This is the best present I've ever gotten," she sighs, blinking back tears as she looks at it with Pete's arm round her side.

"16 years later, you found one that looked the same," she smiles.
