Third Person Pov
Sighing, Marinette left the area and headed home. Should she ask her mother for help? Maybe, maybe she should... the girl thought to herself as she strolled home. What if the found something important? Would she be able to pull it off? Marinette sighed as she opened the door and the sound of a bell echoed throughout the room. A smile tugged at her lips as she spotted her mother at the cash register. "Hey maman!" The woman smiled. "Hello, sweetie. I could really use your help. We have quite alot of customers today," The teen smiled as she tied an apron around his waist and begun to assist her mother around the bakery. Time passed and it was time for the bakery to close. They served the last few customers before completely closing the bakery for the day. "I'm going to go make the deliveries, hunny! I'll be back soon!" Tom shouted as he left through the back door. Sabine and Marinette finished cleaning and sat down on the couch waiting for Tom to return. "So, what's the matter, my dear?" The teen stared at her mother before sighing. "How'd you know?" Sabine chuckled. "I may not be your biological mother but I'm still your mom, and a mother knows their child. Now, tell me what's wrong..." Marinette laid her head back and closed her eyes. "It has to do with... well, I-" She paused a bit thinking of how to say everything she's thinking. "It's okay, take your time..." Sabine rested her hand on the girl's shoulder as reassurance. Taking a deep breath, Marinette spoke, "Adrien's Chat Noir!" The words left her mouth in a rush. It wasn't exactly how she wanted to break it to her mom but her mouth listened not to her commands. "W-what?! But-but aren't you two dating? I thought you-" Sabine stopped herself and tried to calm down. "Okay, okay... I'm sorry, it's just..." Marinette opened her eyes and slightly nodded. "Well I guess love is something hard to ignore... What are you going to do?" Marinette hugged her mother, tears forming in her eyes. "I don't know, maman!" They quietly sat there for a while, both embracing each other in their arms. "It's okay, dear..." The woman smiled and wiped her daughter's eyes, "Follow your heart, your instincts. Listen to your head and be careful, okay?" Marinette forced a smile, not knowing how to respond. "So let me guess, the reason why we haven't heard anything about Chat recently is because you got him to quit?" Marinette nodded. "Hmm... which means Hawkmoth's after him, correct?" Once again, Marinette replied with a simple nod. "And you're scared..." Marinete tightened her grip around her mother, she was terrified actually. What if because of her, everyone she knows and loves has to pay the price? What if she messes up and loses the love of her life? What if they find her? What if- "Sweetie, stop overthinking it, if you could've done it, then you can help him too!" The girl pulled away, thanking her mother for the reassurance, she really needed it. "It's fine dear, so do you want to tell me the rest of this story? I have a feeling that there's a lot to know..." Marinette nodded and begun to explain everything to her mother. About two hours passed, Tom was already back home, in bed, asleep and Marinette had finally finished telling her mother everything that's occurred so far. "Oh... well, you're in a predicament..." Marinette chuckled. "Yeah, I guess I am, who would've guess?" The two let out a quiet giggle before resuming their conversation. "But seriously, it'll work out, somehow... just be smart and careful!" Marinette sighed as a slight smile formed on her lips. "Thanks maman... " Her mother returned the smile. "Now, c'mon! Enough sappy stuff! I have a system to hack and you have a base to break into!" Marinette rubbed her eyes and shook her head in disbelief. "W-what?! Y-you mean... you're gonna allow me to?! You're not gonna talk me out of it or-" Sabine placed a finger at the girl's lips to shut her up for a while. "We both know that it's what you have to do! And no matter how long you keep trying to deny it, you know it! Deep down inside you know that!" Marinette sadly nodded, "unfortunately, you are correct maman..." Sabine smiled and rested her hand on Marinette's shoulder. "Now, I'll help you with the hacking... I know it's not your strong point, but I'll need you to do something when you go on your little 'heist'. Marinette smirked and nodded on response. "Good!" Marinette and Sabine made they're way outside and towards a small wooden house. It belonged to Tikki and plagg, for whenever they felt like it or if they misbehaved, but there was so much more than that. The blue haired adult clicked a button under the edge of the roof and a spiral stairway was revealed as the ground opened up. They made their way inside and closed the opening back. "Wow...you kept it clean!" Sabine nodded. This was an escape route... in case of anything. And yes, Tom knew about it, he didn't know why it was so necessary but he went along with it. "Ah! Here it is!" The woman grabbed a dark blue briefcase and opened it. A few gadgets laid inside collecting cobwebs. *Cough* *Cough* "Ugh... it's been a while since I opened this..." Sabine grabbed a 'phone' and handed Marinette a dark blue flash drive. Marinette trailed her fingers across the white lines on its side. "Put this in the main system and I'll be able to gain complete access! And here," Marinette was handed an earpiece, "so we can stay in contact." The teen nodded as she place the earpiece in her ear. "Are you going like normal or-?" The teen sighed. "Normal, just incase..." Sabine chuckled. "Alright then, be careful!" Marinette bowed. "Of course, maman!" The woman sat on the ground and Marinette left the tunnel and changed. She's wearing a black suit. Marinette grabbed something red, it looked like a piece of cloth... (It's the picture at the beginning of this chapter) She stood up and exited the building.
