I pull my burgundy wooly jumper closer around me as I wait for JJ. I was up and ready for the coffee by 11:45am so I decided to wait outside my house for him. Fog appeared in front of my mouth as I breathe into the freezing cold air; the Sun's rays were bright but not very warm unfortunately. I was checking my hair in the window's reflection when I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around quickly to see JJ stood in front of me, a smile appearing across his face as I smiled back.
Looking him up and down, I realised how gorgeous he was. He was dressed in tightly fitted denim shirt untucked over skinny trousers wearing one of Union J's signature jackets; he looked lovely. He'd left his hair flat today which made me smile; I always commented on how much better it looked flat whilst he was on the X Factor. His hazel eyes sparkled in the Sun's rays as he walked up the path towards ny front door.
'Morning' he exclaimed, his voice bright and cheery.
'Morning! Thank you for picking me up!'
'Its fine, you ready to go?'
'Yes!'
We walked down the path, out of the gate and began to walk down the street towards the coffee shop.
We arrived at about 10 past 12; the walk had been quick seeing as the shop was just a 10 minutes walk away.
'Find a seat, I'll buy these' JJ smiled.
He was so polite, but I could'nt let him pay!
'No JJ, thank you but-' He interrupted my sentence by pressing his finger to my lips.
'Sh, listen, I'm paying, no protesting' he insisted; smiling. Sighing, I walk off to find a seat near the window. I take a seat and look over to where he stood in the que. It was all still like a dream, meeting JJ Hamblett. How had I never met him before?
Quickly after I had sat down, he brought over the coffees.
'Thank you JJ!'
After that we began talking properly, about our family's, our lifes. He listened intently although he looked at me as if he already knew everything I was telling him; it was a weird feeling.
'So where do you work now?' he asks suddenly. I began to think, and I tried really hard, but the name was'nt coming to me. I knew where I worked but I could'nt picture it. Looking down at the table, I frown and stutter.
'Sorry, I- I cant remember..'
JJ smiles at me, making me feel better.
'Why?' he asks curiously.
That's when I told him what I had been trying to keep a secret from most new people I met.
'Ok, about 2 years ago, I was at a horse race; at the tracks by the stables. I leant over the rails as the horses began to run down the tracks. As more people became more and more excited, they began to push forward onto me, trying to get a glimpse of the horses. I was flipped over the rails, straight into the path of a horse. Then I woke up in hospital, 3 weeks later after a coma with my memory severely damaged. Only recently has it gone back to normal.'
He held onto my hand as tears streamed down my face. Most of my memory had been wiped from my mind, but the accident stayed there; often creeping into my dreams, often creeping into my mind with flashbacks, reminding me of the horror.
'Its ok, its over now, nothing will hurt you again ok?' he tried to comfort me, squeezing onto my hand tighter. His other hand rises in the air, his thumb moving softly over my cheek as he wipes the tears from my face. We both smile at eachover.
'Thank you JJ' I sniffle.
After I had told him, he began to talk about happier things, making me laugh. We finished our coffees and exited the warm, bustling shop and entered the cold Winter's air. He walked me 10 minutes down the road back to my front gate; we spoke the entire way.
'Well, thank you very much for a lovely coffee JJ' Smiling, he grabbed onto my hand like he had yesterday, pulling me into his chest. He wraps his warm arms around my cold body, hugging me tightly.
'You're welcome' he whispers quietly into my ear before pulling away.
'I have a week of gigs, but I'm back on the 23rd; would you like to meet me for some last minute Christmas shopping then?'
I attempt to hide my excitement with a polite smile; JJ Hamblett wanted to meet up with me...again!
'That would be great, give me a text ok?' He nods eagerly before I wave him goodbye; walking through my gate and up the path into my house again.
*JJ's POV*
I wait until she closes the front door before beginning to walk home. She looked so beautiful today, just like 2 Winters ago. She was bound to remember me soon, surely? I could see it in her eyes today; as if she knew that I already knew everything about her, like I'd known her for years.
I could'nt tell her yet, no, but maybe at the horse races in a few weeks...Maybe I could quickly jog her memory in time for the race, just as quickly as it had been wiped from her mind 2 years earlier. Maybe she would remember me. Maybe we could be like how we were...Maybe.
