The boy at the stables~ A JJ Hamblett/Union J fanfiction~ Chapter 5~

I lived on my own, but Mum often visited due to my bad memory. She came over a lot during the long week running up to the 23rd, when JJ got back from the week of gigs. We had texted the last couple of days since he had left, since our coffee. He spoke to me as if he knew me; it was crazy!

'Whats up with you, its like you're distracted by something?' my mum asks curiously, taking a sip of her tea as she takes a seat at the dining table.

I decided to just tell her, and get it out of the way.

'Mum, guess what' I smiled. 'I've met this boy, he lives just down the road..and he's famous..'

Suddenly she froze, dropping her cup onto the table; hot tea spilling everywhere. Her eyes went dead, her stare was slicing through my body as her face expressed anger.

'You can't see JJ anymore, you hear me? I don't want anyone hurting you.'

Confusion entered my brain, and it was'nt from the accident 2 years earlier, it was pure confusion.

'Mum, I never said his name..how do you know his name?'

She cursed under her breath before standing up from the table.

'Just listen to me when I tell you I don't want you to see him, I mean it..he will just hurt you, he has too many female fans to have time for you.' she exclaimd. Without saying anything else, she turns to walk from the door; slamming it behind her.

I sit in shock, tears forming in my eyes. How did my mum know him? Why did'nt she want me to see him again? Whatever her reasons were, I did'nt care. She was'nt going to ruin my chances of knowing JJ Hamblett.

*JJ's POV*

It must've been around mid-afternoon when I got a call on my mobile; I smiled as I saw the name that flashed over my phone.

'Hello!' I answered cheerfully.

'JJ, I told my mum about you, and she went mad at me, as if she knew you..whats going on?'

My voice stuttered as I thought of an excuse. This was'nt the time to tell her, not yet.

'Oh really? I've never met your mum though? Maybe she mistook me for someone else..Very strange!'

She sighed heavily, as if she knew I was lying; but she did'nt seem make anything of it.

'Ok, I will have a word with her later, I'm sorry.'

I breathed deeply with relief after I had said goodbye; I told her I'd text her after my gig.

This was'nt what I expected. Why was her Mum mad at me, why had she pushed me away from Eva 2 years ago? Anger tore through as I realised; I could still be with Eva, still have her as my own. I threw the nearby cushion at the door, tears forming in my eyes as Josh entered the room.

'Time to catch the taxi to the gig, hurry up!'

'C-Coming' I stuttered, hiding the anger and upeset in my face.

I gathered my things and made my way to the door, still pondering over what could've been, and what still could be.

*Eva's POV*

Relief flooded through me as I received a text at around 12am that night; excitement flooded through me as the name flashed over my phone.

'Hey, hope you've made up with your Mum! Just a few days before I'm back, I could pick you up in my car at 11am on the 23rd for shopping, is that ok? x'

I quickly texted him back.

'Hey, yes, she's fine now! Yes, that would be great JJ, thank you, I'll see you then!'

Sending the text, many feelings echoed through my mind. Excitement; JJ Hamblett wanted to see me again, he wanted to be friends; maybe more? Confusion; what my Mum had said, was she worried about his fame or something else? Disbelief; I believed JJ, of course I did. But I couldn't help but think he knew a bit more than he was telling me. I let the last feeling slip my mind, as most things did, and excitement took over; but that disbelief would not budge from the back of my mind. What was it?
