Chapter 14

"Carter!"

I almost jumped when I heard my mom's voice which brought my attention to Skyler infront of me.

"Was that your mom?" he asked.

"Yes. I guess it's time for dinner. What the heck Skyler?"

He frowned. "What?"

"I mean, why'd you want to have dinner with us all of a sudden?"

"Something came up and--

"Sshhhh." I hissed.

I heard someone's footsteps running. Then Connor came out of nowhere and his eyes were still focused on his PSP.

"Carter! We're waiting for you and I'm hungry---"

Connor's jaw dropped when he saw us. He gave me a questioning look.

"Hey, C-Connor." I stuttered.

Why the hell am I stuttering?

Connor raised an eyebrow.

"This is Skyler Finn. Classmate." I glanced at Skyler, his hand on his mouth trying to hold back his laughter. Skyler extend his arm to Connor and they shake hands.

"Mom's waiting for you. C'mon I'm hungry." says Connor exited out.

I followed Connor inside but Skyler grabbed me by the elbow. I came to face him and said, "We'll talk aboout it later. But right now, my family's waiting."

We went to the kitchen and found mom looking for something in the fridge.

"Mom."

She turned back almost looking shocked. "Oh my gosh, a boy."

"Mom this is--

"Andrew! Our daughter has brought her boyfriend." I wasn't able to finish my sentence because of my mom's loud shrieking and squealing.

Dad came running in the dining area and his eyes widened.

"Mom, Dad, This is Skyler Finn." I introduced. Dad shaked Skyler warmly by the hand.

Mom smiled and asked. "Since when did you two started dating?"

I cleared my throat and looked at Skyler who just stays calm at the moment. "We're not dating, he's just a....friend." 

 "Aw." Mom frowned and I even saw Connor roll his eyes at that. "Well then, Skyler I hope you like pot roast?" mom asked Skyler.

"Yes. Thank you Mrs. Richards."

"Call me Eleanor." she said.

They took their seats in the dining table while Skyler and I were left.

I gave him a puzzled look.
