Y/N's POV
The plane had landed. I took a deep breath of the fresh air as I looked at the city in front of me. I smiled widely. This is it! A new world awaits! I spent a few hours walking around the city of Beijing. There are so many people here even if it's pretty late! The lights look so pretty. This is my first time to ever leave Korea... "Oh!" I exclaimed, as a light drizzle started. I took shelter under the roof of a shop. I felt refreshed as cold wind blew on my face along with some water droplets. The city looks even prettier like this. That's right! A little rain makes everything prettier and refreshing than before. Just like that, my life would be happier than before. I opened my bag and grabbed my umbrella which I had thankfully packed before leaving.
I stepped out in the rain with it, taking in the cold air. This feels good! I had switched off my phone and stuffed it in my purse already. I should start looking for a place to stay for tonight... I can look for a job and a house on rent tomorrow! Should I look for a hotel...? Or just a motel? I pouted as I simply walked down the street. My stomach growled slightly. "Oh! I should look for a convenience store," I mumbled, "Food comes first~" I had soon found a store and walked in. I bowed at the old lady at the counter and then started looking for some snacks. After a few minutes, I returned to the counter with some snacks and said, "Umm... How much would this be?"
The old lady at the counter said something in quick Chinese. I blinked a few times and just stared at her. It has been so long since I learnt Chinese... Why the f*ck was I so confident about this?! I must be crazy! "Uhm... Do you speak English?" I asked like a typical foreigner in China. The woman said something again and I wailed internally. "Let it be," I said, smiling at her. I picked up the snacks to put them back but bumped into someone. "Oww," I exclaimed, rubbing my forehead. The man eyed me for a second before turning to the halmeoni. He pointed at my snacks and I blinked. "It's twenty yuan," he told me with a smile. "Oh th-thanks," I said, going through my purse only to find it full of won. "Y-Yuan," I muttered. The guy stared at me and then shook his head, paying for me instead. "No! It's okay!" I said, "You don't have to-" "C'mon," he said, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the store. "Look, mister, I-" I began. "Yukhei," he cut in, "Wong Yukhei."
"What?" I said. "My name," he said, "Or you can call me Lucas if you find it easier!" He smiled at me, pulling at his black leather jacket. His smile is really charming though... "And you are...?" he said. "Y/N," I said, smiling, "Y/N L/N." I did a quick bow and then exclaimed, "Oh yeah! Why did you pay for me earlier?" "Because you didn't seem to have any money," he said, shrugging, "And you looked hungry." "I do have money," I said, showing him my purse. "Won?" he said, "Are you from Korea?" "Yeah," I said, "I just arrived her today." "No wonder you didn't know any Chinese," he said, "But aren't you stupid? You didn't even exchange your money at the airport?" "Yah! Now that's rude," I said. "How is it rude?" he asked, "You looked completely stupid earlier!"
"Hmph! Fine! I'm stupid! Happy? Look at you trying to hit on me by helping me out!" I said, grumpily. "Me? Trying to hit on YOU?" he asked, pointing at himself, "I was just being a good citizen by helping out a foreigner duh!" "Yeah yeah!" I said, "Anyway! I'm leaving now!" "What about my money?" he asked, as I opened my umbrella to walk out of the roof of the shop. "Here! You can have my won!" I said, bringing out some money. "Gimme your umbrella instead! I don't have one!" he said. "What about me then?" I asked, shaking my head. "Fine! Let's just share it!" he said. I narrowed my eyes and said, "I will let you since you helped me, but let me tell you this- I have a boyfriend! So don't try to be funny!"
"Really?" he said, stepping inside my umbrella, "And where's he?" "In Korea," I replied. "Ahh! I see! Which oppa is it this time?" he asked. "What?" I asked, looking at him as we walked through the rain. "I have seen lots of girls like you, going around talking about an idol being their boyfriend!" he said, shaking his head. "Whoa! I have a REAL boyfriend! He's not an idol," I said, feeling annoyed. "What's he then?" Lucas asked, raising an eyebrow, "I am not believing you if you don't tell me." "He's a chaebol!" I said, thinking of him. "Oh! I see! You are Kim Miso then!" said Lucas. K-Kim Miso? I felt my heart almost stop at those words. How... How does he know? Did she find out and send someone after me?
"Then your boyfriend must be Park Seojoon?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "W-What?" I said, frowning. Then I realized that he was talking about a drama and gritted my teeth. "I told you not to be funny!" I said. He laughed and said, "Okay! Okay! I won't tease you. You have a boyfriend~ I am not interested anyway!" "That's better," I said, "Cuz I intend to leave you in the rain if you continue with that behavior." "Being rude, are we?" he asked. "Nope," I said, shrugging, "Stating facts." "Anyway, how did you end up coming here like this?" he asked, frowning, "I mean... Without any plans? I don't think you have a place to stay!" "I don't..." I mumbled. I looked down as I stood still. What was I really thinking? I have forgotten Chinese... I don't have any money either... How am I even going to pay for staying in a hotel?
Lucas's POV
I was a bit surprised when she stopped walking and looked down. She looked so miserable, her face full of worry... It made me want to protect her. "You can come to my place," I said. "Huh?" she said, looking up. "Don't think too weirdly! You don't have any yuan... You obviously can't pay for anything and since I am a good citizen of this country, I will let you stay at my place for tonight! You don't have to worry! I live with six other boys so..." I said, trailing off at the end as I looked at her expectantly.
