Bubbles buzzed as she scootered along beside me. Tiny's tail waved behind her as her eyes widened. Just as she pounced off my shoulders, I grabbed her tail and held her off the floor. Oshken chuckled as he stuck out his tongue. Tiny hissed, swiping down with her claws and almost hitting Oshken's eyes as she laughed victoriously.
"Time to get up, we're going out."
Jumping, I spun around, seeing Ectoplasm walk in. "We're going? Where are we off to?"
"Hosu. I've been given information that we are required to head there. Come on."
Humming I hopped onto my feet and followed behind Ectoplasm. I tilted my head slightly, wondering why we would be needed. It wasn't like he was a powerful hero.
I leaned against my seat as Tiny played with my hair. Ectoplasm watched in amusement as the ants sat on his shoulder. Bubbles groaned, not liking the fast speed train while Oshken hid in my shoe.
Yawning, I stretched out my arms as Ectoplasm led me through the streets. The whole day was boring. Nothing happened. Ectoplasm seemed to sigh as the sun set for the night. "Seems my information was wrong."
"Yeah but it's nice to get out once in a while. Have you seen Bubbles? She went missing quite a while ago." I looked around me, I could see one cat and two ants but no fish. Oshken was still in my shoe and I never summoned Charlie. Glancing around, I tried to spot anyone screaming and running away. "Huh? Hey, is that Iida? What's he up to?"
Iida was not acting normal. He kept looking around stiffly and he wasn't staying still. Well, he did that stuff normally but it still seemed strange. Pulling out my phone, I snapped up a quick pic before opening up the messages.
'Hey, what's up with Iida?'
It took almost ten minutes before I got a reply. Though I don't blame him for not instantly replying to me it would have been nice if he didn't wait so long.
'His brother was killed before internships started. He's probably paranoid. I'll call him once we've finished.'
It was a little weird that was probably our longest conversation since... we were five... ish? I put away my phone before looking up. Manual was talking to Iida, seemingly calm around the hero-in-training. Why was Iida with such a low-class hero?
My question wasn't answered as screaming echoed from down the street. At first, I thought someone had found Bubbles but then a Nomu crashed through the street and I put that theory on hold.
"Midoriya! Help the civilians getaway! Don't engage the villain!" Ectoplasm ran forward, summoning his clones to fight. I held out my fingers letting Charlie stand before me.
"Charlie! Levitate the public out of here." Focusing as hard as I could, I pulled out an old friend. The blood swirled around them as the snake slowly formed. "Mikst! Block of the path! Make the walls as tall as you can!"
Mikst hissed as she hit her tail into the ground. The rock cracked before shooting up. Charlie continued levitating people over the wall as Tiny started to lead the children away. I was about to summon someone else when something- or more specifically, someone- caught my eye. Manual was looking around frantically.
Searching the street, I realised why Manual was looking so worried. Iida was missing. Why would Iida run off though? He wasn't one to break the rules unless... The Hero killer! Iida's family was made from Heroes. He's gone after the Hero Killer.
"You two continue the work, Dic and Dom, with me." I started my mad dash to the alleyway in which Iida likely disappeared down when Charlie appeared by my side.
"Like you're going anywhere without me. Let the ants evacuate, I'm the fighter!"
I shared a look with Dic and Dom who nodded in agreement. Dic flew up as Dom pulled out a new device. A bright white beam hit Dic, enlarging him until he was the size of a small pony. Dic pointed the device at himself before doing the same thing. Together they climbed over the wall and helped the remaining civilians out.
Charging down the alleyways, my eyes widened as I spotted the person we were looking for. Skidding to a halt, I called out as Charlie threw the Hero killer off Iida. She hovered above Iida while smirking.
The Hero killer stood up, brushing off the dust that clung to his outfit. "Don't get in the way."
The Hero Killer seemed proud as he spoke about his Quirk. So that's why he wasn't moving. Made sense. I could see Native slumped against the wall, I would have to summon at least one more person to get them both out of here. Shouldn't be too hard.
Charlie laughed darkly. "I think you're the one in the way." She dashed forward, energy swirling around her as she struck down. The Hero killer jumped to the side as Charlier put a hole in the ground.
I rushed to Iida's side, poking him in the cheek while narrowing my eyes. "Are you dead?"
"Stop it! LEave! Stay out of this! That guy is mine! I'll kill him for what he did to Tensei!" Iida's eyes shined with determination as I gaped. Really?"
"Right, you're no dead but you are stupid! You think your hero brother would really want you to kill someone! I thought you were smarter than this! Stop acting so reckless and idiotic and help me save Native!" I slapped Iida causing him to stare at me wide-eyed.
I pulled Native up before grabbing Iida's arm. This was not going to be elegant and might lead to brain damage but it should stop death.
Charlie screamed as she was thrown through the nearby wall, bringing it down with her. She picked up a brick from above her head as she stood back up. "Fucking die you useless piece of shit!" She jumped up, hitting Stain over the head and sending him to the floor like a sack of potatoes. "Finally! Killed him! Ack! Or not!"
I ducked down- dropping both Native and Iida- as Charlie went flying over our heads and into the floor. She groaned in pain as I raised my eyebrow. "You're a ghost, why did that hurt you?"
"Hey! Just because I'm a ghost doesn't mean I don't feel things!"
Deciding to ignore her comment, I told her to pick up Iida and dragged them all away from the quick approaching hero killer. As we spun around the corner, Dic screamed proudly and pinned the Hero Killer to the ground. "Got him!"
Letting out a sigh of relief, I felt a wash of tiredness cover me. I fell backwards, vaguely registering that I still had to deal with Mikst. Whelp, I'm killing a snake in the morning.
