Today was simply beautiful. The creatures and animals of the land slept peacefully in the early hours. The birds sang sweetly in a dazzling symphony as the first rays of dawn peeked over the horizon in a dazzling mix of amber and pink.

It was peaceful, of course, that meant I was about to be awakened. Loud screeching woke me as I jumped and fell off my bed. Tiny meowed in a displeased rumble. She grumbled and buried herself underneath the pillows.

I looked around, I tried to find the familiar creature, the creature that woke me up at dawn every other day for the last ten years. Cowering in my shadow, Oshken hissed painfully while holding his hand, though if anyone else had seen him, they wouldn't have been able to work that out.

Oshken was a shadow creature who was made out of darkness. He looked like the shadow of a twentyish old man with short flipped hair and in a dishevelled suit.

Prying my eyes away from the usual sight, I stretched out and yawned. "Who forgot to close the curtains?" Standing up, I walked over to the curtains and pulled them closed.

I didn't get an answer from any of the characters I had added to this world. Tiny was moving further away from the disturbances waking her while Bubble, our evil goldfish, hadn't been woken from the loud screech- something only he seemed capable of. The ants had just swapped over their shifts, meaning that the new ants wouldn't have been awake when the curtains were closed.

Dic and Dom- the first and second commanders of the ants- jumped onto the glass walls that held in their intricate tunnels of sand. The rest of the ants were either sleeping in said tunnels or off to work around the house.

Dom used his robotic wings to fly across the small space and land on my shoulder. He pressed a button on the side of his headset to activate the link. Placing my own- larger- piece into my ear I could hear Dom's translated 'voice' coming out the device. "I believe that task was left to Bubbles last night. Though why you try to get him to do anything, is beyond me."

Bubbles was still asleep, letting out small carbon dioxide filled spheres that floated to the surface. Of course, he forgot.

Shaking my head, I turned back to Oshken and took his arm, inspecting it for any damage. Nasty burns covered the 'skin'. I brought out some special ointment and slathered it on the wound. I wrapped it in some bandages.

"You'll need to stay home today, Osh," I soothed sweetly.

Osh let out a displeased groan, before climbing under the bed in a sulk.

Sighing a little, I quickly jumped up and went to grab my uniform for the day. It didn't take long to get changed and head back into my bedroom. I felt Tiny jump onto my shoulder, Dic and Doc climbing onto her back. Bubbles offered to stay with Osh.

He used the robotic fishbowl he lived in to move to the bed and sit down beside it, knowing better than climb under.

Starting the trek to the train station, I pulled out one of my horror stories to read. This story was about a girl, Charlie, who fell in love with the school outcast, Leah Bartley. It is quite sweet until Leah kills herself at the Christmas dance causing Charlie to go into a murderous rampage, killing all the bullies who hurt her one love.

I had read this book three times already but I loved it anyway. Later I will need to drop by the bookstore to get a new story.

Pulling up at the station, I started the walk to the school. The sight was incredible. Tall, silver buildings towered over us like my bed over my ants. The buildings were connected by large tunnels making it look like an H.

"Ready to start your new life, little fighter," Dic asked me, placing a small leg on my cheek.

"Yeah... I am." Taking a deep breath, I stepped forward but instantly tripped and went tumbling to the ground. Closing my eyes and preparing myself for the impending doom, I waited to meet the concrete.

Thankfully, it didn't visit my face as I seemed to be suspended mid-air.

"Are you alright?"

Turning my head to look at the person who stopped me from being hurt. She had short brown hair and two oval-shaped blushes on her cheeks. She helped move me into a standing position while smiling. "It's my Quirk. Sorry for using it without asking first. But it'd be bad luck if you fell, right?"

She put her hands together, returning gravity to my body.

"Thank you for helping us," Tiny sang, her tail wagging back and forth. The girl gave a weird look to Tiny, unsure of what to think.

"Don't mind Tiny, she is just excited to meet people who won't think we're strange," I explained, scratching under her chin.

"She's very cute," the girl praised, reaching out to ruffle the top of her head. Before she could, I grabbed her wrist and pulled it away.

"Sorry but you need to be careful with Dic and Dom. They are very easily squashed." I held out my finger to let Dic and Dom jump on it. The girl looked close at my finger, trying to see the ants. "I'm Izuku Midoriya by the way." I lifted my finger back up, letting Dic and Dom climb back onto Tiny's head.

"I am Ochaco Uraraka. It is nice to meet you. We should head in, it will be starting soon," Uraraka said before turning and running into the building.

"Come on," I whispered, scratching Tiny's chin once again. Soon the entrance exams will begin and I will be able to start my journey to becoming a hero. Firstly though, I need to make it into the building without falling over again.
